Houston boosters will pay ANY amount to keep him IF Houston joins Big 12. Can't figure out why Texas wants than in the conference. One more hurdle back.

They have enough to make hm an offer he can't refuse...don't kid yourself. And in what world does Houston and its boosters have more money than Texas? I find flaws in your entire line of thinking here.
Paul Finebaum said today, "Texas was ready to pay Saban $100 million and Texas is a better job than LSU." Translation-Texas can pay Herman more than LSU (or anyone else) and $$ is not a factor. They have enough to make hm an offer he can't refuse...don't kid yourself.
They are already broke from facilities expansion. They can't go above $5M year without going bust. They have enough to make hm an offer he can't refuse...don't kid yourself.
ESPN said it best, Texas is a better job than LSU. LSU has to compete against Saban every year. Texas doesn't have that black cloud. Plus, Herman already knows and recruits Texas. It's an easier move and an easier place to win - College Football Sunday$$$ being equal, he bolts for UT, LSU or USC. Big issue for UH, is getting into Big12, and thats not happening. It's a non starter. Not giving an opinion on if they deserve it, its just not going to happen.

Paterno and Bowden coached much longerSaban will be 65 at the end of this month. I would guess he's not going to be there for a lot longer. He strikes me as a guy who wants to go out at the top of his game.
They also coached way way past their prime and had to be forced out. I can never see that happening with Saban.Paterno and Bowden coached much longer
LSU's last title came before Saban got rolling at Alabama. Check LSU's record against Saban and count their SEC titles since then. Bottom line, no one has shown they can stop Saban from dominating the SEC, no one.Where did he say that about Texas? I have heard that USC was his dream job. I think he has ties to California as well. I also am not sure Texas is a better job than LSU. That entire state is in your hip pocket plus Houston and East Texas are close. Sure the SEC is challenging but They have won 2 NC's in that conference in the last 15 years and you have one 1. Plus Alabama will not be this good forever. I know Texas is a great job, but I am not sure it is better at this point in time than LSU. Their facilities are also better right now.

Didn't realize that. My mistake. He said it about Texas. Not USC, hell he turned down USC just a year back.
SEC West is the toughest division in college football. Compare that to the Big 12 South. Where is the easier path to an undefeated season? It's simple.I understand that, but that was also Les Miles. I just think with Herman's abilities at the QB position, the talent as his disposal, and the probability that Saban will not do this forever (Coach not win), LSU might be the best job for him to get it done in the country.
The timing could be a problem for UH. If the Big 12 decides to expand and UH gets invited, when would the invitation be extended? If its not before the end of this season, I don't see Herman staying around unless he's given a guarantee that they are in.Herman never said Texas is his dream job, that's BS. He will have many opportunities to choose from. BUT, if Houston gets to n the Big 12, why would he leave? They will match the money anyone offers, including UT.

There is no quote from Herman, just the rants of an egotistical writer. Its easy to say, but I highly doubt it's a fact. And even if it was said, things change. The ONLY reason Houston is in the mix for the big 12 is UT pushing for them. I don't get why?http://insidetexas.com/mondays-in-the-humidor-with-big-cigar-2/ From last year, near the end, it says if Strong stumbles in 2016, expect a full court press on Herman and Herman would crawl on broken glass to coach at Texas.
Not happening. Period. Change the subjectHouston boosters will pay ANY amount to keep him IF Houston joins Big 12. Can't figure out why Texas wants than in the conference. One more hurdle back.
Houston is a commuter school with far less resources. I read that Herman was on his hands and knees scraping up the old floor, exposing the concrete, to lay new floor. This happened at Houston! They cannot financially compete with TEXAS!Not happening. Period. Change the subject
An undefeated Texas with a good OOC schedule is plenty to make the playoffs-when Texas is playing quality offense, defense, and special teams.Herman would have a better shot at the playoffs at LSU. They can lose to Alabama and still get in. SEC can do that occasionally. The big 12 you have to beat the same team twice next year to make it. The big 12 is not respected and unstable at this time. He would still recruit Texas well. I heard a sportscaster say that LSU was loaded with NFL talent and why Les was fired. So who knows what he wants now.
