I agree with most of what you said except the beginning and end.you don't like that i call you out for some your stupid old geezer nonsense? and i stand by my statement-- defense has been beaten to crap. i thought they were decent except against the deep balls until late. not great. not dominant by any stretch. but decent. the offense sputtered in the red zone. the push off on johnson was a killer. the missed fg sucked. the INTs were bad. but again-- gary patterson is really really really good. i can tell when we have bad coaches. manny diaz was bad-- it is no surprise that he is failing at miami. shaun watson was bad-- it is no surprise he ruined the upward trajectory at pitt. duane akina as a coordinator was bad, but he was humble enough to know that. applewhite was uninspiring, at best-- no surprise it went sideways at houston. harsin was really good. robinson, tomey, chizik, boom were all good. i'm gonna say it-- based on the results, dondryesdale was really good. and know what-- orlando is good. 4 of the 22 in the 2-deep are upper-classmen on defense. 4. of 22. and then you tack on the injuries... you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for players. and yeah they were 4 star players, but they get better with reps. they learn how hard they have to play by playing on special teams, and these guys haven't had that. next year, provided sam stays upright, we're legitimate national title contenders. we are. or we can do something stupid and start all over again.
We should not wonder through the wilderness longer than 5 years under ANY head coach (or coordinators) before making a coaching change.
