If we had won the SEC...

If Texas had beaten Georgia and won the SEC, how would the CFP bracket have changed?

  • Georgia gets the 3 ranking and 5 seed, and bracket is same as now but we are switched

    Votes: 36 39.6%
  • Georgia gets the 4 ranking and 6 seed, facing SMU and then Boise State

    Votes: 18 19.8%
  • Georgia gets the 5 ranking and 7 seed, facing Indiana before a rematch with us

    Votes: 37 40.7%

I know this has been bandied about a bunch, but I wanted to look at the final CFP rankings, and see what might have been the scenario had we beaten Georgia in OT.
We saw that the committee did not punish Texas and Penn State for losing their conference championship games.
Had Georgia lost and been 10-3, do they get the #3 ranking? (If so, the bracket plays out exactly the same but us and Georgia flip places and we are facing ND)
Or do they drop to #4 below Penn State? (In this scenario, Penn St takes our spot, and Georgia is the 6-seed facing SMU and then Boise State, and then us)
Or do they drop to #5 below Notre Dame? (In this scenario, Georgia would be the 7-seed and face Indiana before our rematch)
I personally don't think there's any way they drop behind Ohio State.
