NZ requires an ETA too - it can be a pain

UK ETA Mandatory as of January 8, 2025

If you will be traveling to, or through, the UK in 2025, please be aware:

As of January 8, 2025, the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will become mandatory for eligible non-European nationals, including residents of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Visa-exempt travelers visiting the United Kingdom for tourism, business, or just passing through in transit will be required to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). Travelers just passing through, even if staying airside en route to a destination outside of the UK, must still apply for an ETA, which will cost £10 and take approximately 3 days to process. If you are transiting through the UK en route both to and from your ultimate destination, you will need an ETA for both flights.

The British Government recommends using the UK ETA App, but you can apply online as well.
