The entire heritage of our country is immigration. Immigrants that come in legally work hard, start businesses, and help us compete in the global economy. With birth rates plummeting it seems more important than ever to open the door to immigrants around the world.

on the other hand, illegal immigrants pouring over the southern border, causing crime, drugs, and wrecking certain communities can’t be the answer.
Why not quadruple the legal immigration quota and revamp the process where it’s easier, cheaper, and some additional support is provided to help them get set up for success? You could also disperse them across the country into areas/towns with declining populations.

what am I missing? Why can’t some reasonable moderate come up with something that could work?
