In putting together my stuff from the War Room today and looking through some of Drayton's historical recruiting results from various stops leading up to Texas, it's hard not to notice what happened between 2007-09.
Apparently, his first stop at Florida didn't end well at all, as Urban apparently was in full a-hole mode in his relationship with Drayton (along with paying him the least amount of money on the staff).
So, Drayton bailed a month before signing day for Tennessee and kind of set fire to some bridges along the way (Just do a google search on "Stan Drayton leaves Florida for Tennessee" and you'll come across all kinds of interesting "reports").
Yet, he joined Tennessee in Phil Fulmer's last year and was out of job with the arrival of Lane Kiffin, which explains how he ended up at Syracuse for a season in 2009.
A year later... after all of the things that happened prior to his Syracuse run, he was back in Gainesville working for Urban. Then he takes a job at Ohio State in 2011, only to have Urban show up a year later and keep him on the staff.
Man, Drayton's got to write a book one day.
