The Mueller report comes out, virtually guaranteeing no immediate threat to the Trump presidency, and here we go with China and Iran. In the meantime NK launched a missile or two.
The China situation and Iran situation may well be things triggered by them and completely coincidental to the timing of the Mueller report, but it appears that we are in the process of putting into place those philosophic underpinnings of Trump's team in earnest now. We will take pain to stop China before it is too late, and we are moving on towards confrontation with Iran or at least a return to where we had them with sanctions prior to 2015. Who knows with NK. I always looked at the Trump-NK summits like a why the hell not, there is really nothing else we can do at this point type of gesture.
These are gambles we are taking, but like the debt and other issues they have to be dealt with. It will be interesting to see what happens. I doubt we can stop Iran's bomb project and doubt we can win in China, but I am sure the UK doubted they could win WWII. Sometimes you have to do tough things with no guarantee of success.
