There is a great interview with a KGB agent many have seen, posted by Coelacanth the other day and linked below where he describes the KGB (and explicitly states international socialism or international socialist conspiracy) method to get nations ripe for socialism.
Step 1 is demoralization - You have to watch for yourself, but after doing I suspect you will agree that we are demoralized. This is not demoralization in the sense we are used to hearing it, but rather someone being so doubtful of things they do not even know the truth when explicitly shown it. This is clearly the case in a country where there are no longer academic or journalistic much less political institutions that the public trusts. This is slow and takes 15-50 years.
Step 2 is destabilization which he describes as a process against the economy and military, which takes 4-5 years. Not saying that COVID was a communist conspiracy, but it certainly was a great opportunity for destabilization as has been the political deterioration in this country since at least 2010 and probably 2006. Maybe 1992.
Step 3 is the crisis.
Step 4 is normalization and nothing goes back to normal.
