We walk into Jerry World and endure a 4 quarter slugfest against a team that became arguably the biggest poacher of HS talent in Texas during our down years. We win the game on a clutch TD pass from Quinn, who transferred home to his dream school from Ohio State in order to save us from over a decade of subpar football. In doing so Quinn also exercises all of his demons and finally lives up to the lofty ranking he had coming out of HS.
We go on to play Notre Dame in the national title game. Once again it’s a back and forth fight for 4 quarters until we finally prevail, and once and for all put to bed the “Texas is back” phrase uttered by Joe Tess all those years ago when we beat ND on our home field. All of this goes down in Atlanta, AKA the site of the annual SEC title game, which we will get to know very well in the coming years.
When you really think about it, this is simply how it must play out. It’s all too perfect. Fate has decided that our time has come, and it will be glorious🤘😁
