Kobe Black is set to announce his college commitment this afternoon. Here's what you need to know ...

Who: Cornerback Kobe Black (6-1, 179)

School: Waco Connally

Announcement: Wednesday, 4:20 p.m. at his school (available via live stream on Black's Instagram page and DCTF)

The contenders: Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Ohio State, LSU, Oregon

Ranking: Black is ranked as a high-four star prospect by Rivals.com. He checks in at No. 38 on the Rivals100, is No. 8 in the state of Texas and is the nation's No. 2-ranked cornerback prospect.

FutureCasts: 100% of the Rivals.com FutureCast projections are in favor of Texas. Some guy named Geoff @Ketchum was the first to log a pick with a UT prediction on February 26.

Thoughts: Not much new to report on this one. All signs continue to favor the Longhorns over Oklahoma State. There's been thought that we might be near a resolution with Black's recruitment going all the way back to last summer, but he's taken his time and hasn't rushed the decision. He has obvious ties to Oklahoma State with his brother being a senior on the Cowboys' roster, but he has strong ties to UT as well, including former high school teammate and current UT freshman Jelani McDonald. We'll have our final answer this afternoon but any choice other than Texas would be an upset.
