A comment from last week goes way back with Dr. Slaughter of Sinus & Snoring...

"Been going to Dan Slaughter since he first got out of medical school. He officed in temporary bldg just north of the new (at the time) North Austin Medical Center. He called himself doc-in-a-box. First class guy and outstanding surgeon."

He's been doing this for over 20 years and he's the best. He has helped me and my wife sleep so much better. The other night, I actually heard my wife snore. I couldn't remember the last time I had heard it. Then I looked and sure enough. She wasn't wearing her CPAP and talked about that bad part of the night the next day. If you or your bed partner (or both) are snoring, have bad allergies, suffer from sinus issues all the time, or all of the above, Sinus & Snoring Specialists can help you.

Thanks to those of you that have reached out to them and mentioned OB or my name.

- Ok, let's turn to the sports entertainment history in Toronto...

What are your favorite heel turns?

You know that scene in a movie, TV series, or for this discussion, a wrestling match when you find out someone you thought was a good guy is, in fact, a bad guy. For some reason, cops or government officials come to mind in movies for me. You find out the career cop has been skimming off the top and kills his partner. Uh oh. Or an old guy you think just wants to FIND Jason Bourne turns out to be after darker things. "You look tired Pam." Mysteries are built around great heel turns. Wait, the nice maid actually killed the whole family? Yup. Dun, dunn, DUNN!

In the world of pro-wrestling, the heel turn is legendary. There's nothing like it. The buzz of the crowd as they try and process what is happening followed by the first boo/scream of "what the..."/thrown object at their former hero. Before we get to the Cena thing, here are 5 that came to mind, including the GOAT of heel turns.

- Seth Rollins delivers the chair shot to Roman. It ends The Shield and starts 3 solo careers.

- HHH gives the double thumbs down to Randy Orton as he rides on Bautista's shoulders. A heel turn within a faction is a wild one.

And the Big 3 for me from 80s-90s

- HBK turns on Marty Jannetty in the barbershop. My jaw dropped as a massive Rockers fan when Marty went through that glass. What an image.

- Andre turns on Hogan. Bobby Heenan turning Andre against Hogan cemented The Brain's evil status, but when Andre challenges Hogan for the match at WrestleMania 3 and rips the necklace off his neck, millions of kids like me were heartbroken. We didn't know about booking and angles. We just thought Hogan had been betrayed. Great theater. But nothing tops the GOAT.

- Hogan Turns Heel. Nothing, including what happened this past weekend, will EVER surpass what Hogan did at Bash at the Beach In '96. You can watch it and still feel the energy coming off of it today. From the crowd's sound to all the stuff they threw in the ring while Hogan spoke to Bobby Heenan telling you Hulkamania was dead, it was wrasslin' drama at its best. And it also re-engaged a bunch of wrestling fans that had not been focused in for a while...like me. Actually, I had just been growing up. I was 22 at the time. I'll get back to that thought. First let's set up Cena.

*Short version - After a career where he just never turned even kind of "bad", John Cena turned on Cody Rhodes last weekend when The Rock signaled him to do so. It was quite a moment. And the fact that the Rock is involved cranks it up a notch.

Whatever Hogan's turn was for the business, this one may be able to transcend a lot more in the short term. The Rock is 10x the movie star Hogan ever was, and he has the backing of WWE Social media and his own social media army. Remember, Hogan was in WCW when he turned. Then add Cena. He's not Rock big as a movie star, but he's bigger than Hogan too. So if it's about getting eyeballs for WrestleMania in April that might not have tuned in otherwise, this one could pull it off. To that end, if you're a casual wrestling fan, adult wrestling fan, just a social media follower, or a big movie freak, will you watch? I wonder where the viewer numbers are about to go.
I also wonder how they'll pull this off.

***Warning, WARNING... even nerdier wrestling talk coming in 3...2...1

The Rock promos right up until the Cena turn were bizarre. It was kind of like last year around WrestleMania where the crowd is trying to figure out why The Rock is there, is he good or bad, etc. He praises the crowd then rips them in a 2 minute span. But they got there, and The Rock is now kind of a Mr. McMahon 2.0. He's "the boss" and you add his freaking career to back him up. When he swings that weight belt, it looks like it HURTS.

2 questions regarding Cena...1) How do you book the lead up to Mania? Do you let Cena cut heel promos? What does that even sound like? Or do you just have him stare like a monster and let The Rock speak for him? Both of these guys are legends on the mic, but they have had a tough time finding the right tone when they've been away for so long.

2) Am I the only one who has thought about The Make a Wish Foundation? One of the real world reasons people have thought Cena could not turn heel was the foundation. He has granted over 650 wishes. Second place is Justin Bieber...with 250+. Let that soak in. So, if you're a heartless wrestling writer, have Cena tell all those kids he never cared about them. They'll get the nuance right? I'm sure John has talked to them about works and shoots, right? I'm all ears. John is considered by some to be the GOAT because of the connection with the crowd, ESPECIALLY kids. What does this heel turn do to all of that?

Oh...and I also should have mentioned this is John Cena's final year as a wrestler. That's why this can never top Hogan for a turn. Hulk still had some Hulking to do in '96. So how will Cena go out? Do you put a 17th belt on him at Mania, but he loses it before the year is done? Does he not get the belt and puts Cody over big in April as a favor to the business on the way out? Do you leave him as a heel the rest of the year? Or does he turn back as a way to stick it to the Rock for their previous feud? Can you really let Cena END as a heel?

And most importantly, CAN John be a heel? I saw Fast and Furious 9. I knew it didn't work in a movie, and so did they. Can it work here? Can two of the biggest actors ever to transcend the wrestling world make us believe THEY are the bad guys now? Especially Mr. "You Can't See Me"? Yours truly, social media, Make a Wish Kids, and the millions..........of The Rock's fans are heading to Netflix tonight for the next chapter.

Lots of questions to answer...

* Raw is Mondays on Netflix.

* Smackdown is Fridays on USA.

* Wrestlemania 41 is April 19th & 20th in...Vegas.
