Some people on the Dawgvent are looking for good jokes (personal attacks welcome also :)) about Baker. Got any good ones?

Just that the arkansas PD seem to know where his funny bone is.

Here’s one if you think getting your defense violated is funny: Trevor Knight violated that Kirby smart vaunted Alabama defense, just imagine what Mayfield’s going to do.

Too bad Mayfield will be watching from the sidelines while we violate their defense with 400+ rushing yards.

The only thing that would keep Mayfield on the sidelines is another nut grab. Yeah, yeah I know, “OU’s never seen an O line or a defense like ours” You know the ol’ SEC SEC SEC bit. Gee I could have sworn I heard that last year and against Bama before that. And that was AFTER Stoops trolled the SEC about their defenses being overrated. Chuckulz

Stoops caught a Bama team who didn't want to be there. It was a letdown for them, and a meaningless bowl game (like most all of them). Stoops had something to prove, nobody else cared.

We'll see what happens. Completely different teams. I'm expecting a competitive game but think we control the ball fairly well and wear out their D by the 4th.

Since UT has only been in a conference with kansas for 21 years, I will simply remind you that the acceptable social norms for expressing displeasure to a chickenhawk go well beyond what would be acceptable under other circumstances. Against ku that gesture grades out as just a little less polite than "Hello there! Very nice to meet you!"

Uh huh, yes, playing in the Sugar Bowl is just a consolation. Well like Stoopsy said, “We’ll it sure seemed like they cared when they went down and scored on their first possession and everyone thought they were going to route us” or something to that effect. It is a completely different year and may be a competitive game if OU does not jump out early and fast. If Georgia gets behind early and has to press I think they’re in trouble. I do believe Georgia does have a nice rushing attack.

It is when the expectation (and near certainty) was to play in the BCS title game. Just my general feeling that in most bowl games it comes down to the team who wants it more that day.

It's really hard to predict this game, I just wanted some dirt on Baker ;)

Oh I guess I should have added I’m a Sooner LOL. Well you didn’t specify who could answer. Just giving you hell, should be a good one.

Am I the only one that hopes OU rolls UGA? I actually like Georgia as they are the only team in the secsecsec with any academic standards. Hell, they even have ethics. Sadly for them they play in a no morals conference that takes in every player Georgia kicks out. Even still, my loathing for the secsecsec overcomes my dislike of OU.

Unfortunately for Georgia, Riley is no Stoops. Riley's playcalling about to put a mind bender on Kirby Smart.

Yes, I think that you're on an island by yourself, lol. I hate the $EC, but I cannot, and most Longhorn fans, could never root for 0U. Go Georgia! I'm hoping for a Clemson/Georgia final, with Clemson repeating as national champs.

Come on MM don’t think of it as rooting for OU, take a more abstract approach like you’re pulling for conference pride. Big12,Big12,Big12

That's OK MM. Most OU fans the same. Even with the arrogant ESPN USC boosters in '05 only about a third of us were pulling for the Horns.

Not only is your statement false, but the SEC is currently a superior academic conference to the Big XII.

If you go by US news rankings, Vanderbilt and Florida both rank above Georgia and Georgia ranks above Texas.

If you look at AAU membership, the SEC has 4 schools (A&M, Florida, Mizzou and Vandy) to the Big XII's 3 (ISU, ku, and Texas). The Big XII used to have an academic superiority card, but every school that left in the realignment was an AAU member.

ah geez... not this crap again. every time an sec sec team gets its crap handed to them, there's an excuse. when ohio state beat alabama in the semifinal, did they not want to be there then either? or utah over... i dunno.. one of them? or clemson? or texas tech over arkansas? or oklahoma over tennessee? look, stoops didn't buy that sec sec garbage and his results reflect why.

sometimes, the academics ain't reflected by the top; it's reflected at the trade schools you have at the bottom.

True, the bottom also matters. But aside from Mississippi jokes, I think you would have a difficult time making a case for a great academic disparity. Besides, we know you didn't add West Virginia for thought leadership. I found the following admissions standards charts for each conference:

Big XII
SEC

You could probably find a couple things to pick on if you look through the data. The only things that jump off the page at me are:
  1. Nobody is nearly as selective as Vanderbilt (not a surprise, but it's very different than all of the public schools).
  2. KSU apparently has no screening of applicants based on standardized test scores.
So let's move away from labeling "trade schools" and tell me: do you really see a large number of true bottom feeders in the SEC vs. the Big XII? Be fair.

Riff Raff said his rap game was like the Oklahoma Sooners so.......Take it as that

I pull up at Ruby Tuesday's
Rap game Oklahoma Sooners
You know how I get down
You know how I'm known to clown
Pop trunk, show surround
Leave the whole block drowned (wet)

Ok...I think there is something wrong with me. I found myself wondering if I should go for OU. I mean, I hate the...with a passion like all of us. But I am sooooo sick and tired of the “SEC mentality”. Should I seek a doctor?

This is my biggest fear. Clemson in 2015 in the playoffs...we hung with them right up to the point where they were just too big and athletic for us. Maybe somewhere around the middle of the 3rd quarter. If Georgia can do that, it could be a long day for OU.

I personally don’t think that’ll happen, at least not to the extent Clemson manhandled us. Georgia will break off some long runs for sure, but Clemson had something Georgia doesn’t...DeShaun Watson. Fromme is a good, serviceable QB, but not a huge threat. Without a deep passing threat, OU will keep 8-10 guys within 8 yards of the LOS.
