Talked to Scottsdale Community College TE Sal Cannella, who is hanging out in his room at the Four Seasons tonight before heading home early in the morning.
I'll have a full report from Cannella tomorrow but he said the UT visit was incredible. He loved the city of Austin and his time spent talking to the coaches, particularly Tom Herman and Corby Meekins.
He's had a long weekend (Auburn and UT official visits) so he wants to go home, process things and then announce a decision on Wednesday. I asked if he had a school that was standing out (not who it was, but simply if one was standing out) and I get the impression he's genuinely torn. Texas, Auburn and Maryland all still in it.
Hard to say if Texas won him over yesterday and today, but he definitely liked the visit.
On Omar Manning, I talked to someone close to the Lancaster wide receiver who said it was a very productive visit. Manning is still committed to TCU but this will be one worth watching very closely.
"It went well. He was excited to be there and get a chance to know the new staff better along with the players," I was told.
