Yes, but how many SEC titles would we have won? I'm thinking, one.
Texas' problem hasn't been the Big12. Texas' problem--and the Big12's problem--has been Texas simply not performing up to expectations. Our recruiting has been fine throughout our time in the Big12. But for a variety of reasons we haven't developed that talent or converted it into wins.
Maybe hiring Sark changes that. I hope so. But even if that turns out to be correct, then I still fail to see how we have an easier path to the playoff in the SEC than in the Big12.
I mean, here's the truth of the matter:
If Texas is what it is supposed to be, then in the Big12, OU is our only real obstacle. In the SEC, there will be OU plus other obstacles. And if Texas is not what it's supposed to be, then we're a 7-5 product in the Big12 and . . . probably less than that in the SEC.
