He said it should be at Jerry world.

thays pretty idiotic. But he’s from Florida and has never covered a Texas vs atm game and knows zero about the tradition. Not surprised with most his takes about TEOT last year. He has zero clue about Texas traditions. Pretty frustrating being a member of a site dedicated to sports and the lead guy $hits on some of our most sacred traditions.

To be clear, I'm not opposed to a move to the SEC if it improves Texas' situation.

But I ask myself, "What is the easiest path to the playoff?" . . . and it's difficult for me to understand how that path isn't easier in the Big12 than the SEC.

I could be wrong.

Playoff going to 12 teams. Your thought process is so Big 12

I am more interested in playing aggy and Arkansas every year than angling for the best possible postseason setup.

Define easier, we’ve only won the Big 12 twice in 20+ years.

I agree with you 100%. Our three historic rivals plus a couple marquee games a year is worth it to me. The pageantry of college football is back in a big way.

Yes, but how many SEC titles would we have won? I'm thinking, one.

Texas' problem hasn't been the Big12. Texas' problem--and the Big12's problem--has been Texas simply not performing up to expectations. Our recruiting has been fine throughout our time in the Big12. But for a variety of reasons we haven't developed that talent or converted it into wins & championships.

Maybe hiring Sark changes that. I hope so. But even if that turns out to be correct, then I still fail to see how we have an easier path to the playoff in the SEC than in the Big12.

I mean, here's the truth of the matter:

If Texas is what it is supposed to be, then in the Big12, OU is our only real obstacle. In the SEC, there will be OU plus other obstacles. And if Texas is not what it's supposed to be, then we're a 7-5 product in the Big12 and . . . probably less than that in the SEC.

You can’t chicken shit your way to a championship.

I’ll be 100% honest, I don’t even care. I’m really just looking forward to cool road trips and the home schedule. Those things matter to me and are planned into my fall every year. The wins and losses thing will work itself out, the current administration has shown a legit commitment to football in a way I never expected. If we continue doing what we’re doing, the wins will come.

Also, keep in mind we have been playing in a conference where we are the most important game FOR EVERY opponent. We get their best shots.

That won’t be the case in the SEC.
