Been making some calls today and I just spoke with Vernon Broughton. He said his UT visit last night went very well and he spent a lot of time hanging out with guys like Chad Lindberg and Logan Parr.
Broughton doesn't yet have a formal top five, but he said Texas would for sure be in there. I asked if there were any other schools he knew would be in his top five and he said not right now. Pretty good sign for Texas.
Also, Broughton will take his official visit to Texas the weekend of May 3. He plans to have a decision late summer.
I was also able to catch up with new offer James Brockermeyer, who said it was a good visit overall. Brockermeyer said Texas is very high on his list for a variety of reasons. The Longhorns are going to be tough to beat for him and brother Tommy, but James did tell me they still want to take things slowly and he doesn't see them making a decision anytime soon.
