Has anybody be out to Lake Tahoe? If you have, what's it like? Me and the wifey are headed out there in November and wanted to check with my fellow OB's to see if it's worth a damn. Please let me know and any recs are appreciated.

It's beautiful. Half is on the California side and the other half is in Nevada. You can stay in South Lake Tahoe and gamble in that is something you like to do. By November, however, it is likely to be pretty chilly and possibly some snow.

Agreed about November being a strange time to go. Likely will not be much snow if you want to ski and likely a little cold to really enjoy the lake.

I would go in August is you want outdoor stuff or during ski season.

This is right up there with asking if anyone actually thinks Kate Beckinsale is hot.

Yeah.....Tahoe is incredible! Nov isn't the ideal time to go though. It's before ski season and after boating & hiking season.

Thanks and I no about Tahoe in November. Asked my wife to merry me on top of Harvey's in the old Llewellyn's Restaurant. One year later we went back in November for our 1st anniversary. It is go an to be a 20th anniversary present too celebrate the occasion. Thanks again for all of the feedback and wanted to know if it was still a grade place to go.

South Lake Tahoe is my jam. Been three times now and, surprisingly, all trips in November. We never plan on skiing or getting in the water so it fits us just fine. Love the cooler weather around that time.

The Hard Rock casino was cool to play Black Jack at. We usually hike some trails and wine and dine.

Here’s a cheap little video I threw together on our first trip.

That'd have been good info to put in your original post, since it sounds like you've never been to Tahoe and know nothing about it. To answer your question though, Tahoe is still awesome! It's the one place California's legislature hasn't figured out how to ruin. ;)

Congrats on 20 years!

Yeah after reading both of his posts, I’m so confused. :D🤪

Little bit more than one place.

Tahoe is a beautiful place to go we head up there three or four times a year. It was the first place we booked last year right after the full lockdown was lifted

Word of warning to anybody planning to go now. California is in an extreme drought again and the lake levels have dropped. I'm not sure on the boating but I think a lot of it was closed due to the lower water levels

And be ready to interact with some bears. I went out on the balcony last year for a business zoom call and during the call realized right below me a juvenile bear was tearing the dumpster apart

What are you looking to do? I lived around there for 9 years.

Thanks for the update. I just wanted to see if it was fully open by then and enjoy the scenery, the casinos and the food. I thought it would make a great 20th anniversary present. She said "yes" in November and we spent our honeymoon there in November a year later. Good times.

The best month for Tahoe is actually September. The water is at its warmest and all the kids have gone back to school so it’s less crowded.

I’ll have to try that out. We went in late May before it got crazy busy. Some of the trails were still closed due to the snow and the golf course was closed. Really would like to play Edgewater I believe it’s called.

We loved it. Hiking, spa, gambling

I love the hiking there. Maggie’s Peak is good for the family. Rubicon if you’re feeling adventurous

Many times. But November is between seasons.

Tahoe is always beautiful...casinos and restaurants are already mostly back to normal. Hiking trails are always open in Tahoe (snow shoe them if there is snow). Golf courses generally close mid-October (at least Incline Village Champ course does).

DM me with any questions have lived up there for a few years.

Heavenly at Lake Tahoe is my favorite place in the US. Just Love Love Love that view. Stay at Harrah's on the NV side and walk 2 blocks to the gondola lift. Great Food, scenic view and a place to GET AWAY winter or summer. November, maybe not so much but good luck and congratulations. I went in late March and the CA side was still dead and NV was open. Bars in CA closed at 8. Kinda weird but it was a quick stay so I enjoyed it anyway. Should be much more back to normal in November, however.

Over the years, we have stayed there >50 nights with my kids skiing and boating. If you are near the lake its one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Nov is not a good month. Cold, but no snow yet.

You want to be there from May til Sept/early Oct. for the warmer weather.

Hiking, old wood boating, ATV'ing, a little gambling. You want to stay in a home in Incline Village if you can.

Skiing is a whole different story and depending on what you want to do, I would have 3 different areas to choose from.

This makes me happy, I’ll be there with a group friends in September. Never been, but I’m getting excited.

Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the country. My wife and I like the north side of the lake since we don’t gamble much. You can rent really nice condos at The Northstar or Ritz Carlton.

You can get snow there anytime. The one time I went was in June. 3” on June 6th.

On the positive side, it’s a stunning place.

We are going in August and staying at the Hyatt at Incline Village. It will be our first time to go in the summer. Any golf recs would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Interesting. Liked Eagle Lake and Monkey Rock, but didn't try Maggie's Peak when I was there. We had a big beach trip with the kids for this summer that we had to cancil since Curacao is shut down, think we're going to hit Tahoe instead. May have to try Maggie's Peak.
