11/15/1932- 60’s pop singer and “the First Lady of The British invasion” Petula Clark is born outside of London. She became the 1st British female to score a no.1 single in America with this timeless tune.
11/13/1935- Bing Crosby records “Silent Night”, it would go to sell over 30 million copies.
11/12/1938- Early 60’s songwriter Mort Shuman is born in London. His collaboration with Doc Pomus produced a slew of early rock hits like this…little sister.
11/17/1938- Gordon Lightfoot is born in Ontario.
11/11/1944- Growing tired of paying band leader Tommy Dorsey over 40% of his earnings for years now, Frank's agents offer the Dorsey over 60k (roughly 1 million) to release the 29 year old star singer, Dorsey refused. Frank's "Sicilian friends" get involved, Dorsey releases Sinatra. Frank is then able to sign with Columbia Records and rocket to nationwide stardom.
