Let's talk Runningbacks

Also remember the current Texas oline is still a work in progress, we won't see a real oline until next season. Ricky's last two years he ran behind one of the best lines Texas ever produced. Not sure what kind of line Leaks or Earl ran behind but I imagine they were also pretty damn good.

78 Cotton Bowl guys were talking about how small the UT OL was compared to Notre Dame's defense. The OL is obviously very good, if the kids has 1100 yards in 8 games. That is just like the folks that said Barry Sanders had no OL, but Lomas Brown was a perennial pro bowler and they had records like 12-4. If backs don't have blockers, they not getting yards. Best OL Mack Brown had, was the one he inherited with Ricky(John M.'s players)!!! He got (recruited) giants, but they were mostly busts in NFL, Williams and Davis come to mind. So either the defenses in the Big 12 are horrible or UT has a good OL.

Yes players are bigger and faster today ..... BUT - can you imagine if Earl or Rosey played in an offense with 4 wideouts, spreading the safeties and corners all the way to the sidelines? And if they didn't line up a FB in the 'bone (Earl did for 3 years). I submit Earl and Rosey could've run for 3000. And that's taking nothing away from Foreman - and BTW - according to this site - he was a TWO STAR?????
Roosevelt Leaks was a joy to watch. So glad to have been in Austin then.

Ricky didn't run behind Davis or Williams, his line was almost all seniors. Ricky's backup and El Ced ran behind Davis and Williams. Not sure why you would consider Davis a bust since he had about a 12 year nfl career.

And just to be clear, the defenses in the Big 12 suck.

Davis was drafted as an OT, that is why he got paid and drafted as high, but never panned out and was just an over-sized guard. Learn how to READ!!! I said the best OL was in 1998, the hold over players. I said Mack had OL that were hyped, but were busts in the NFL. the 2005 OL was just good, no great tackles, but played well together and had depth, no stars.

I'm not sure how a guy that played 12 years in the NFL, went to 3 Pro-Bowls and was All-Pro in 2007 is defined as a bust. Because he didn't play tackle? Whoopty Freakin Do

Derrick Dockery started 115 games and played 141 over a 10 year career

From the 2005 Team

Justin Blalock started for 8 season's in Atlanta, and Lyle Sendlein started a center for a majority of his 9 year career.

Jonathan Scott was in the league as a back-up for 9 years
Tony Hills is somehow still in the league, although he has never been a huge contributor on any team.

Just because none players will get a bust in Canton doesn't make them busts. Don't lump all of our linemen in with Mike Williams.

Most champions have one or two games where they just got lucky, for Texas to win a National title next year they would need about 5 or 6 such lucky games.

I'm convinced you will see improvement at every position except RB, if Foreman doesn't come back we won't have a running game. If he does Texas will still need two or three lucky breaks.
Chris Warren is good and i think he is only a sophmore. Big power guy, not quick, but still good

We will see what Warren will be like after he heals, he needs to get his weight down to about 240 lbs. He is playing too heavy and it has really slowed him down.

I'm starting to think 2000 yards for Foreman is a real possibility. 3 games left and one is Kansas just needs about 180 per game.to break 2000.
