Bob Bowman appears to have taken the financial lead in collegiate swim coaching, with a six-year deal as the University of Texas’ men’s coach that will start paying him $400,000 annually. The deal includes bonus opportunities that could push Bowman’s compensation well past half-a-million dollars.
The new contract, obtained through a public records request, will see his base compensation increase by $10,000 in each subsequent year through 2030. Additionally, Texas will cover whatever buyout money Bowman may owe his former employer, Arizona State, which paid him $320,500 in 2023-24, plus $95,000 in bonus compensation.
