Per multiple reports coming out of Arkansas, Minnesota transfer DL Trill Carter will visit Texas this week. Carter just wrapped up an Arkansas official visit on Sunday. The UT trip will start on Monday, and Carter will then head to Ohio State next weekend. The interior DL has previously visited Illinois and he's supposed to visit Louisville following his visits to Texas and Ohio State.
The 6-2, 300-pound Carter appeared in 33 total games for Minnesota, starting 24 the last two seasons while recording 55 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and one interception. Carter's best season came in 2021, where he tallied 20 tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack. In 2022, he logged 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. His efforts in 2022 earned him All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors.
Originally out of Georgia in the 2019 class, Carter was ranked as a three-star prospect coming out of high school.
We saw at the end of the 2023 cycle that Bo Davis was trying to add another interior DL guy so this one makes sense. We'll try to connect with Carter following his Texas visit to get his thoughts.
Carter told Arkansas media outlets following his visit this weekend that he'll have a decision following his Louisville visit, so that should mean he'll have a decision in the next couple weeks before enrolling at the college of his choice in the summer.
