I just saw this on one of my relative's Facebook post. This is what troubles me the most about the use of disinformation on the internet. I don't know who Wade Mckinney is but I do know that my relative and probably all of his Assembly of God church members absolutely believes everything he is saying.
Bottom line Wade is saying that he has sources that tell him that Trump is going to declare martial law and to be prepared. He also claims that it was Antifa and BLM that actually raided the Capitol but that Special Forces infiltrated them and it was Special Forces that confiscated all the laptops and other media so they would have evidence against those who were against Trump.
Now to his credit he wants everyone to remain peaceful but he still stokes the idea that Trump is Gods's instrument in restoring Him in the United States. As a Christian this makes me very concerned. I grew up in the Methodist and Southern Baptist church and was a member of the Baptist Student Union in college and at one time wanted to become a minister in the early 70's. I don't remember this kind of disinformation on non spiritual matters then but as I got older right wing politics started to become much more prominent. I left the Southern Baptist church shortly after college but many of my friends and family still are in very conservative congregations and are convinced that Trump is the answer and that any party or person who opposes Trump is against the Will of God.
My concern is how do you counter disinformation when information like Wade is dispensing cannot be checked or verified. At least if we see something on MSM or read it in a traditionally accessed news source there is usually some actual fact to look at to base an opinion on it's validity but what I see from fringe news sites are usually absent on fact and full of rumor or unverifiable allegations or claims.
