Well, today is it. In short Masters has their biggest marquee final pairing since Tiger, Francesco and Finau. And of course, that means Tiger and whoever was paired with him.
But Rory & BDC represent a titanic final pairing that quite honestly is rare not just in Masters history but all the majors. I expect the highest ratings since 2019 if not further. Keep in mind 2019 final group teed off well in the morning in order to beat bad weather later in the day. While Rory reps the majority face of golf for the 35+ crowd, BDC is the modern day Tiger who draws viewers like my 16 yo who literally straight up tuned yesterday between select hoops games.
It’s a shame that we only get four chances to see BDC in this environment. He’s great for the game and gone from being a heel to a fan fave.
Weather I suspect will be glorious. Sure, someone could come from several shots back to win but overcoming ONE such talent is hard enough, much less 2. Particularly 2 who have the fuel to manhandle the par 5s particularly 13 & 15.
Could be an historical Sunday. Rory can become just the 6th to win a career Slam and first to do so since El Tigre completed his 25 years ago at St Andrews. Meanwhile BDC can add a 3rd major which really separates you from those with a solid 2.
Will be a great Sunday at the Masters
