Masters, Who ya got?

I like Justin Thomas. Speith seems to have a meltdown that ultimately costs him the tournament. Long shot of the week: Tiger

You think all those sleepers will make the cut?

Lieshman should for sure. He putts well and hits it a long way. Two things you have to do at Augusta
Frittelli has been tearing up Europe and if he can avoid a big blow up hole he will make the cut.
Austin Cook is a birdie machine. He is 3rd on tour in birdies made. He can score. The question is whether he can handle Augusta pressure (most can't)
Aphibarnrat is a very solid golfer. He was top 15 here last year and did well against top fields in Mexico and Dell Matchplay.

I think 3 of the 4 will make the cut and 1 of these 4 will be top 5.

Chamblee on Golf Channel says Justin Rose. I'll go with Justin Thomas. For the last year he's always hanging around the leader board.

And if FlourBluff gets to pick Palmer, then I'll also go for Trevino - the Merry Mex!

Through 7 holes Lieshman is 3 under. A long way to go, but you may be on to something.

Speith leads by 2 over Tony Finau who borrowed Vince Young's ankle for the par three tournament yesterday.

That was one of the weirdest things I've seen. Never thought he would play today, much less be tied for 2nd.

Trevino only played Agusta twice, the last time he put his shoes on in the parking lot. He refused to ever go there again saying it it were not for the event he would only be allowed in to work in the kitchen.

...or on the grounds. No doubt there were some crotchety old white ahole racists that were members there, but I doubt he felt unwelcomed by the majority (if not all) of the best players of the era.

I'm pretty sure Trevino played The Masters like 15-20 times.

Weevil....you are absolutely correct. I got my wires crossed somewhere. I just remembered this......but apparantly not too well....:

Speith has already picked up 3 shots through 2 holes...

Do you mean "dropped 3 shots"? I take "picked up" in golf meaning that he gained 3 shots on others. Not meaning to be picky. Anyways......
He has now dropped 4 strokes (4 over on the day so far), sitting at -2, in 8th place.

Oldhorn I am with you. I had remembered a controversy between him and August and thought he never played. But skipping 3 years in your prime is still a big deal. Trevino is on KTCK The Ticket in Dallas once a year at the Nelson for about 30 minutes, and he talks a hundred miles an hour - every story is hilarious. Seems like a guy that really enjoys life. I'm sure he felt the sting of racism more than once in his life, but that guy has as positive an attitude as anyone I've ever heard.

I have no beef with Coach whatsoever, just different wording of play. And I know you’re just kidding.

But with you on the other hand....o_O

Sun Bowl, December of 1994, at Lee Trevino country club, our guest speaker was.....

Wait for it....

Lee Trevino.

I pissed my pants at his stories. The best one was this..... now mind you, Lee was once struck by lightening during a golf round.....

"Gentlemen, let me tell you a little known fact that few people realize. If you're ever on a golf course and a lightening storm rolls in, do you know what you should do?

Don't run for cover. Stand right where you are, reach in your bag and pull out your 1 iron. Hold that 1 iron up as high as you can. You'll be perfectly safe. Not even God can hit a 1 iron."

Leader board is looking great for tomorrow.

Reed took Rory out in the Ryder Cup. Look out for Ricky.

Lot of good players in touch with the lead.

Should be a great back nine tomorrow.

Have plenty of beer on hand.

Pretty wild finish yesterday, Speith had the best round of golf I can remember watching live on TV. Dude was on fire until he hit that tree. Happy for Reed tho, especially after Rory talked all that smack on Saturday.
