Yeah. I mean when a team is making everything. There isn’t much you can do. Graham hit one from the point of one of the horns at half court.
I gaurntee you though right now Bill self is thinking “shit we hit 17 3’s and barely escaped”... Shaka is doing a nice job developing this group.
Another bright spot is they shot free throws well. Not sure of the numbers don’t have them in front of me but it was good. Hopefully that is a trend that continues.

Yep. You saw tonight why I said in another thread you can’t just zone Texas even though since they don’t shoot 3’s well it seems like a good idea. When you zone it’s gonna be harder to control Bamba and Dylan on the boards. You saw that tonight. A lot of put backs and lobs to Bamba(more of those please)
No one is going undefeated in this conference it’s gonna be an absolute grind. We’re gonna have games where we play well and lose. Gonna have a few where we play terrible and eek out wins to.
Gotta start winning and get a signature win just like football this year so close but no cigar ! I've seen Duke, Kentucky , Kansas put 5 freshmen out there and win .
You’ve seen Kentucky do that. You’ve not seen Duke or Kansas do that. Kentucky is the only team that plays 5 freshman ever year or most every year, and Cal will tell you that they get better later in the year and that’s what we are seeing. The big 12 conference is loaded we will have opportunities at signature wins virtually every game
One note on Kentucky given coach Cal’s history at his other stops and the recent investagstion in to college basketball don’t be suprised if we find out that what UK is doing is less than legal let’s say.

And at a 49% clip. 40% from 3 is a great shooting night 49% is insane. That’s like a once a year kind of game.
UT is playing better. Thanks to Bamba. I would have liked Smart to run more of a man on those 2 man shooters. They left those guys open majority of the night but KU was hot.
KU won't be able to shoot 50% for 17 3's again this season. It's just so frustrating that we get the bad end of the stick. This team is snake bit. We can't beat good teams. I look at anm (who we beat when it didn't count), tcu, ou, tech who have played a combination of nobody. Can you say overrated? Our sched has been rough and without jones it's going to be an uphill battle. Bamba is going to have to carry this team. At best this is a one and done ncaa team or middling nit participant. So much talent with average results. The UT story.
Jones is back. We played fine with out him. Lost to Michigan, but wentbon the road and beat a good Bama team. As long as we keep improving every game we’re gonna have a good season.

Ok State gave WVA all they wanted.

Nice win tonight. We have been without a jones for awhile. He's in the lineup but not doing much.
Great win. They need to play Jones a lot more. Davis more. Young less. Big O is still by far our most important piece to this team
I am guessing Jones wrist is not 100% yet, so maybe that is why he doesn't play much
Glad to get the win, of course, but ISU is a bad team — by far the worst in the Big 12 (91st in Pomeroy). This team will have to be very lucky to pick up another road win.
I just watch the game on DVR. I was worried about this one. Ames is a tough place to get a win and it’s a fast turn around. Glad they were able to grind out a win. 2nd good game from Davis. Hopefully that continues. You get Jones to 100% with Davis going to a lot of the offensive problems will solve themselves.

Shaka said he hasn’t been feeling well the last few days. Know the feeling the flu bug has been rolling through my house as well.
I imagine it’s just easing him back from the wrist and him being under the weather. Just take it easy with him for now. Gonna be needed later in the season.
This isn’t one of Iowa states better teams, but they are plenty good enough to win some games, and Ames is always a tough place to play. I think some of the results in conference play this year are gonna suprise you.
Against KU, there were times when Texas couldn't get a RB to save their lives. Kansas kept getting ORB after ORB until it finally went in. Even when Texas made up the gap and it was somewhat close, there was no doubt who was going to win that game.
Yeah I am. Kansas isn’t great when they aren’t shooting 50% from 3. Tech is a good squad though. Chris Beard can really coach.
TCU and Baylor was a really good ball game to... I’m telling ya. There isn’t an easy gsme in this conference.
Yup Kansas is not as good as people think without that 3 point shooting. That kid on Kansas with the weird last name Mykhailuk isn't shooting crap tonight at his house and has had many open shots but he murders us at our house! Tech recruited well and without big names and got in state players not even on the ESPN 300 and they are making a name for themselves.
But this conferenc is tough and will not be a cake walk.
