I just saw an article about the chick in the Mixon case coming out about something.... i didnt et the link or anything... anyone else hear about this or know what it is?

Q1 is he my brother? Son? Roommate? Player? Etc. Why would I get defensive? That didn't make sense on your part

Nobody really takes your question seriously. But, why is it surprising that a rival fan base keeps up with what is happening on the other side? Even if it weren't a rival, there were two players in the NFL by the names of Greg Hardy and Ray Rice that had the whole country talking. By your premise, nobody should give a damn unles you were a relative, friend or fan of the team. Makes no sense.

West this has been talked about numerous times on here, you know that. For the record I agree with most of y'all that he should have been kicked off. I just don't understand why you guys care so much, it doesn't affect any of us whatsoever.

It looks like everyone should stop pursuing the video recording. She and her attorney are against releasing it also. Everyone involved wants to move on. The journalist want to big story so they always have a filler. Sports journalist that is. Local ,State,National and world news have plenty of new stories daily. They're not stories you want to hear. Always something for fans to bring up on message boards. I imagine the story will be alive 20 years from now on this board. This story will be passed down through generations of a couple of OB posters. Make that an infinite number of years. They still brag about wins before their mama's mama was born.

Why does it bother YOU so much that it bothers us? See how it works? Probably not. Look you think it is cute to say "why does it bother you if it does not personally affect you?".......It is like this....it would bother any decent human being that because a man can play football he can get by with knocking a woman out cold.....or rape them.....or get by with ANY OTHER CRIME....

Do you understand now? No? That is a shocker......

Swva I can see someone bringing it up when it happens or occasionally having interest in it. I would as well. But to be consumed with the situation? When it's not even your team? Idk that's just not my style. I apologize if I find your style as weird

I'll ask again...why do you care? I'm just looking for a real answer and not trying to trade insults, etc.

BC it could have an impact as to what version of ou shows up in october... just bc sooners are petty and gutless,, doesnt mean I was trying to be about this. I saw a story and I was curious as to if anyone else had... I didnt say anything bad about Mixon or ou in this thread...

So there is your real answer - bc it impacts the game in october to some degree - and it even came with insults.... and since you didnt want to trade any, you can just take the ones I gave and move along. ;) Thanks.

I'll tell you why I care. Baylor completely destroyed its program, under the exact same scenario EXCEPT BU did it in the cloak of darkness, OU did it in the light. Bob Ley and his merry band of ESPN OTL reporters made not 1, but 2 trips to Waco to investigate. Even this week, after BU has completely imploded, the NY Times is still piling on with articles of how BU is hiding information (even though everyone is fired and we are about to face millions in lawsuits/settlements). When is the media going to descend upon Norman? Where is the national outrage at Second Chance Stoops giving grace to a guy who destroyed a girls face? Or a guy who shoved a girl down stairs and got kicked out of his previous school? And BTW, its not just OU - when is OTL going to Tuscaloosa to check out Cam Robinson, who was charged with felony possession of a stolen gun, only to have the charges dropped? Whether voluntarily or by force, Baylor is trying to clean up the mess. Its time to throw out the rest of the trash in college football. That begins with Joe Mixon. And God have mercy on Second Chance Stoops if Mixon steps out of line while still on campus.

As I said I can understand a little interest but constantly? I don't get that. If I hear something about Texas I might say " wow that's crazy" or another comment but otherwise I don't give it much thought. I certainly don't think to go to a message board and make a topic about it. I guess we will agree to disagree about things. It's fine

Captain again look up, it's called rivals. Reading and posting occasionally is what I do. With here and other message boards because it's interesting. I can guarantee come Ohio state week, wvu week, etc. I'll be right there having civil discussions yet talking trash ( in a fun way). It's fun

There is several guys who stoops gave a second chance that have turned out great. Others? No. I imagine each case is its own. Hopefully he gets a feel on whether or not he can trust a person. You and I can say we would do this and that in these situations but we don't know. I don't trust y'all and I don't trust myself to always make the right decision 100% of the time

If its being reported on, its news..... and it involves football, a rivalry opponent, and a conference mate, in a conference watching a team implode due to acts of violence against women.... etc etc...

it doesnt matter what you think or what you would or would not do.... this is news.. like it or not. If you dont like it, feel free to kick rocks

Well you worry about Ou and Texas , I'll just worry about OU. That's just how I'm programmed. No biggie

Good Idea. I think some of my College Boys on this site are overly serious about The Longhorns and their serious rivals. Sometimes the smacktalk here quite overrides civility by a noticeable margin.

Now I am just a Tee Shirt Fan recruited years ago by watching Tommy Nobis play. I have only been to the 40 Acres twice in my life.

If you see any of my College Boys over on your OU Rivals site starting any bull effluent, report back here to me with their names. I will report them to retired Admiral and Navy SEAL McRaven with the suggestion that they be taken out into a nearby body of water up to their necks and made to sing all night.

Then at Dawn, maybe Admiral McRaven will grow hungry and ask them what time it is. They will scream "O600 and OU STILL sucks SIR!" He will answer "CORRECT time, men. Recover!" and run them to the closest What a Burger for a breakfast sammich.

Bye now

Yea a whole 131 comments in almost 3 months. Wow just wow. I'm really tearing it up. So let's compare, posting time to time on a rivals site ( and usually it's Ou topics) or being a Texas fan being VERY concerned with anything and everything Oklahoma . I'll let you think about that for a while.

I have pics of me & Adm. McRaven watching a ND game together in DC with our wives. His dauhgter is a recent ND grad, one son I believe was at ND, & his other son was ROTC Air Force.
He was my boss' boss at JSOC, so I never knew him personally but he knew my commander well & my unit well. His wife was excited to talk AF with me because of her son. When we met she asked the Adm. "is he one of your Seal buddies?" & he said "oh no, he is Air Force special tactics, we love these guys!" Made me chuckle.

I hate pics, & nobody knew who he was but me, so my wife took a couple when I wasn't looking from a distance. I will try to see if I can post them on here. It was ND versus Temple, opening game, 2013.

I am a "Cowboy and Indians" MARINE. I was in the Reserve and called us that as we were never called up and just played Cowboys and Indians on different bases. We were well hated aboard Regular bases as some Regulars would lose Liberties aggressing us. Some of our little summer wars got pretty serious. Some of our guys got beat up after being captured...one of our Sergeants kicked some Regular sss and told him to tell his Officer that we were TEXAS MARINES and would not be taking anymore Regular crap. If they wanted a REAL war just lay another hand on a 1/23 MARINE.

However, in The War on Terror, My unit, 1/23, has been called up in parts, uses as replacements to flesh out other units, and in the last call up, the fourth time, were Security Battalion for Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan. They saw the elephant and did a good job. One of their sister Battalions is who they relieved there. I assume the USMC is "blooding" Reserve units in that fashion now.

I have spent my life reading and studying all our formations - not just the MARINES - and I know what an accomplishment it was for Admiral McRaven to have made four star Flag rank IN SPITE of the prejudice against Special Forces Officers due to two existing trains of thought.

Jealousy. It is not as romantic to be counting 2" turnbuckles in Timbuktu as it is have your boots on the skids and be hanging out the hatch of a Little Bird...but nobody better remind them they should have tried to get in USMC FORCE RECON, the SEALS, Army Green Berets, Army Rangers, Army Airborne, Delta Force, AF Rescue, Coast Guard Rescue etc etc etc ( I am A MARINE and all those formations are the stuff to be admired at a distance, but I WILL mention MARINES first. I'm prejudiced too...:) )

Distrust. Normal Officers of Flag Rank who promote all ( or do not) underneath them think Special Warfare Officers are too unconventional to be given more authority and responsibility. Not all that long ago, Green Beret and FORCE RECON Officers were cut off at Lt Colonel.

I was amazed there was such a thing as a 4Star Navy Admiral SEAL.

Thank you for protecting me and my family, sir.

OUlegacy...I am amazed that you come on our site and then ask why we start topics about anything.THAT is damned strange in my book. We talk about criminal elements on several teams. Dont be surprised that OU and Baylor come up often. We also talk about the wild west atmosphere over in the secsecsec. I sugest that if it bothers you that we happen to talk about YOUR thugs, stop reading our board.

Heck that's where most of the good back and forth comes from in my opinion.

Exactly.

If we only cared about the 10 feet in front of our face, we'd miss out on the whole rest of the world.

Ok I'm out on this topic. I'll let y'all know if anything new comes out :):):)

Aw.

Don't quit while you are behind.

You might find one person who you can get to join your illogical side if you spout enough ironically illogical stuff. Keep it up. It's entertaining. You know an OU fan who lives on a UT site and comments about everything and then is using the "why do you care" defense for Mixon.

No problem, my pleasure.
Send me a message & I will send you some pics of McRaven & myself. And some other pics of some similar things. Don't want to post them all over a football board (no need to bother everybody, lol).
