I just saw an article about the chick in the Mixon case coming out about something.... i didnt et the link or anything... anyone else hear about this or know what it is?
Not upset are you, I mean your boy got punished, he got a whole year to red shirt and get bigger and stronger I mean what more punishment could one ask for!Quick question and I'm not trying to start an argument but...... why do you care?
It's easy to see why you are defensive. I wouldn't want anyone talking about it either, if I were in your shoes.Quick question and I'm not trying to start an argument but...... why do you care?
Nobody really takes your question seriously. But, why is it surprising that a rival fan base keeps up with what is happening on the other side? Even if it weren't a rival, there were two players in the NFL by the names of Greg Hardy and Ray Rice that had the whole country talking. By your premise, nobody should give a damn unles you were a relative, friend or fan of the team. Makes no sense.Q1 is he my brother? Son? Roommate? Player? Etc. Why would I get defensive? That didn't make sense on your part
Why does it bother YOU so much that it bothers us? See how it works? Probably not. Look you think it is cute to say "why does it bother you if it does not personally affect you?".......It is like this....it would bother any decent human being that because a man can play football he can get by with knocking a woman out cold.....or rape them.....or get by with ANY OTHER CRIME....West this has been talked about numerous times on here, you know that. For the record I agree with most of y'all that he should have been kicked off. I just don't understand why you guys care so much, it doesn't affect any of us whatsoever.
I'll ask again...why do you care? I'm just looking for a real answer and not trying to trade insults, etc.
Swva I can see someone bringing it up when it happens or occasionally having interest in it. I would as well. But to be consumed with the situation? When it's not even your team? Idk that's just not my style. I apologize if I find your style as weird
As I said I can understand a little interest but constantly? I don't get that. If I hear something about Texas I might say " wow that's crazy" or another comment but otherwise I don't give it much thought. I certainly don't think to go to a message board and make a topic about it. I guess we will agree to disagree about things. It's fine
Well you worry about Ou and Texas , I'll just worry about OU. That's just how I'm programmed. No biggie
He says while ON a Texas site. Just... wow.Well you worry about Ou and Texas , I'll just worry about OU. That's just how I'm programmed. No biggie
I have pics of me & Adm. McRaven watching a ND game together in DC with our wives. His dauhgter is a recent ND grad, one son I believe was at ND, & his other son was ROTC Air Force.
He was my boss' boss at JSOC, so I never knew him personally but he knew my commander well & my unit well. His wife was excited to talk AF with me because of her son. When we met she asked the Adm. "is he one of your Seal buddies?" & he said "oh no, he is Air Force special tactics, we love these guys!" Made me chuckle.
I hate pics, & nobody knew who he was but me, so my wife took a couple when I wasn't looking from a distance. I will try to see if I can post them on here. It was ND versus Temple, opening game, 2013.
Your main concern seems to be what UT fans think and converse about on a UT website.Well you worry about Ou and Texas , I'll just worry about OU. That's just how I'm programmed. No biggie
Heck that's where most of the good back and forth comes from in my opinion.OUlegacy...I am amazed that you come on our site and then ask why we start topics about anything.THAT is damned strange in my book. We talk about criminal elements on several teams. Dont be surprised that OU and Baylor come up often. We also talk about the wild west atmosphere over in the secsecsec. I sugest that if it bothers you that we happen to talk about YOUR thugs, stop reading our board.

Ok I'm out on this topic. I'll let y'all know if anything new comes out
I am a "Cowboy and Indians" MARINE. I was in the Reserve and called us that as we were never called up and just played Cowboys and Indians on different bases. We were well hated aboard Regular bases as some Regulars would lose Liberties aggressing us. Some of our little summer wars got pretty serious. Some of our guys got beat up after being captured...one of our Sergeants kicked some Regular sss and told him to tell his Officer that we were TEXAS MARINES and would not be taking anymore Regular crap. If they wanted a REAL war just lay another hand on a 1/23 MARINE.
However, in The War on Terror, My unit, 1/23, has been called up in parts, uses as replacements to flesh out other units, and in the last call up, the fourth time, were Security Battalion for Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan. They saw the elephant and did a good job. One of their sister Battalions is who they relieved there. I assume the USMC is "blooding" Reserve units in that fashion now.
I have spent my life reading and studying all our formations - not just the MARINES - and I know what an accomplishment it was for Admiral McRaven to have made four star Flag rank IN SPITE of the prejudice against Special Forces Officers due to two existing trains of thought.
Jealousy. It is not as romantic to be counting 2" turnbuckles in Timbuktu as it is have your boots on the skids and be hanging out the hatch of a Little Bird...but nobody better remind them they should have tried to get in USMC FORCE RECON, the SEALS, Army Green Berets, Army Rangers, Army Airborne, Delta Force, AF Rescue, Coast Guard Rescue etc etc etc ( I am A MARINE and all those formations are the stuff to be admired at a distance, but I WILL mention MARINES first. I'm prejudiced too... )
Distrust. Normal Officers of Flag Rank who promote all ( or do not) underneath them think Special Warfare Officers are too unconventional to be given more authority and responsibility. Not all that long ago, Green Beret and FORCE RECON Officers were cut off at Lt Colonel.
I was amazed there was such a thing as a 4Star Navy Admiral SEAL.
Thank you for protecting me and my family, sir.
