1. Racist graffiti appears.
2. People use it as an opportunity to take a stand against racism (whatever that means).
3. Turns out the white, racist boogeyman (or boogeyperson, I should say) is not responsible.

In this case, the article informs us that a “non-white” person was responsible. I’m assuming the guilty party is an Eskimo, as they are a notoriously racist people.
