a. Charlie makes Brian Jean-Mary the DC for the rest of the season. There was already a sense inside the program that Strong would need to elevate BJM to at least a small degree after the season because he's a guy that's going to get more and more opportunities because of his recruiting ability and he's a coach with ambition to me more than a position coach.
b. Charlie gets incredibly involved on defense and works hand in hand with BJM to produce whatever is produced this year moving forward. In a best-case scenario, I believe he'd love to make BJM at the very least a co-coordinator in 2017. There's been a lot of talk about Vance and Charlie being boys, but Charlie and BJM are much tighter. Much tighter. This is a chance to do something that to have been in the back of his mind for sometime from a long-term discussion and the fact that he mentioned today that he has candidates on his staff that could be DC was an indicator to me.
c. Vance will finish the season as a secondary coach and I think he'll be a good soldier. I wouldn't expect him to return because he's not the recruiter that you need as a position coach. You can get away with not having a recruiting impact as a coordinator, but not as a position coach.
