In another thread @Zorlac replied to another poster talking about UT BB standard with a simple question of “what is our BB standard?”
I think we all agree, HISTORICALLY, Barnes is the standard particularly that stretch from ‘02 through ‘08 tourney where we did this
7 for 7 making tourney,
6 for 7 getting at least 1 tourney win.
5 Sweet 16s
3 Elite 8s
1 FF
Simply put we were a damn good hoops brand in that stretch. Every program is going to have down years but in general that was a very good stretch of seasons for damn near any hoops programs save for maybe 4 or 5.
Generally speaking i think at a minimum the program standard tangibly should be in that area. Basically a program that year in year out is considered a very good f’n brand. Yes, there will be years shy of that but those need to be the exception, not the rule.
The program has too many things going for it to not be a major player in the sport. And if NIL is there then even more so.
In summary, I have complete confidence in CDC making the hire to get us there.
