Round 1 – (Pick 1-32)
No. 1 – Tennessee Titans – Cam Ward, QB – Miami, FLUntil the Combine, it will be tough to pivot off of Quarterback for Tennessee. Rumblings in Mobile for the Senior Bowl were that Tennessee is wide open as far as plan of attack – they claim Will Levis will get a chance, but many close to the situation disagree. Will the Titans push in Free Agency and fade this Quarterback class, we will wait and see, but for now, it’s Cam Ward.
No. 2 – Cleveland Browns – Abdul Carter, EDGE – Penn State
What’s better than one elite pass rusher? A second elite pass rusher, Myles Garrett said he doesn’t want to stick through a rebuild, but what if it’s not? A talented defense adding a sparkplug on the edge might be just what it needs. The Offense on the other hand is indeed aging, but we can deal with that in Free Agency and Round 2.
No. 3 – New York Giants – Shedeur Sanders, QB – Colorado
One of the few sure connections this early draft season has been Shedeur Sanders and the New York Giants. After a weekend in Frisco for the Shrine Bowl, the Titans and Giants were the two teams that reportedly spent the most time with Sanders. And it would be malpractice to not mention that almost everytime you saw Brian Daboll in Frisco, he was shaking hands with Shedeur Sanders.
No. 4 –New England Patriots – Will Campbell, OT – LSU
Hitting on Quarterback is at the top of the list for difficulties in drafting, the Patriots “hit” in 2024 with Drake Maye. Now with Mike Vrabel entering the fold, look for New England to grab it’s blind-side offensive tackle to protect Maye.
No. 5 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Travis Hunter, CB/WR – Colorado
The most talented player in the 2025 NFL Draft? Some analysts think so, I have worries about how Hunter will be utilized in the NFL and if an NFL team will have the brain or brawn to put him in winning situations. Now with Trent Baalke OUT in Jacksonville, maybe Liam Coen can convince the Khans to swing on the super talent from Suwanee, Georgia.
No. 6 – Las Vegas Raiders – Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Arizona
The Raiders have a new coaching staff, featuring Pete Carroll and Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly. Many believe the quarterback position will be dealt with before the NFL Draft, so I’m sending another weapon to Las Vegas this spring
No. 7 – New York Jets – Armand Membou, OT – Missouri
In 2024 the Jets drafted Olu Fashanu from Penn State at No. 11 overall, who projects to play left tackle in 2025. At 7 this season they get Membou who will book-end the Jets Offensive Line.
No. 8 – Carolina Panthers – Will Johnson, CB – Michigan
The best value in Round 1? Maybe. Johnson should be a Top 5 pick but falls to the needy Panthers at 8 after teams are forced to play the Quarterback hand, early.
No. 9 – New Orleans Saints – Kelvin Banks, OT – Texas
Once viewed in Top overall pick consideration, Banks’ draft stock is solidified in round 1, however, some teams are labeling him as a Guard first at the next level.
No. 10 – Chicago Bears – Tyler Booker, OL – Alabama
MUST PROTECT CALEB! After just five draft selections in 2024, Chicago needs to hit on the Offensive Line in both free agency and the NFL Draft this off-season.
