1) With zero run game, with his future and legacy on the line, Quinn put Texas in position to win twice late in the 4th and then did the damn thing himself in OT. He made the audible, adjusted the protection and made the throw to extend to 2nd OT. He ran a TD in the 4th, on 3rd down, that should have been the nail. He avoided pressure, climbed the pocket and threw a dart to Gunnar in 2nd OT. Then threw a laser to really apply the pressure on ASU. If you want to complain about this kid, please share your accolades as a 23 year old that compare to his. I’ll wait. Otherwise, please shut up. This kid loves being a Longhorn and has given us everything he has. That’s my quarterback. Thank you Quinn for two magical years.
2) He’s going pro. This kid wants to be a Longhorn legend and he solidified that yesterday. He understands the Arch situation and gets it. I don’t expect him to portal. I think he tips his hat and rides off into the sunset.
3) Mathew F’n Golden. To start the year, I was more excited about Bond, Silas, Wingo, Moore AND even Cook. I was wrong. What a stud. Would love to have him back, but I’ll be a fan for life regardless.
4) Bert needs to cut his hair, put all his change in his left pocket, tie his right shoe in a double knot, breathe through his eyelids, get the chick out of his head, pow wow on the bus with Crash Davis… freaking something.
5) Dillingham is the opposite of Tom Herman. The Anti-douche. Respect.
6) 4th and 13. Like many others, I thought it was over, had accepted our fate and was trying to be happy for the Skatteboo.
7) Then, like many others I’m sure, the next few minutes were an absolute blur, hugs around, stunned, confused euphoria.
8) But we all know yesterday wasn’t good enough to beat any team still playing. I don’t care. Yesterday was a special moment with a room full of horn grad fam and friends.
9) What lies ahead… a run in with a hot, dangerous and loaded team. But ****’em. Maybe 4th and 13 will mean so much more once we see what happens next. Maybe it was an omen. Regardless, Quinn is Benny the Jett Rodriguez staring at the fence, lacing up his PF Flyers. Heroes are remembered, but legends never die. Time to pickle the Beast.
10) LFG!!!
