Need road advice. Austin to Marfa and Terlingua.

I am headed West from Austin to Marfa then Terlingua. In looking at the routes, I am trying to decide what is best to take. The I10 route versus 190 route. I am thinking I want to avoid the interstate because I want better scenery and timing wise it looks the same. Any advice is appreciated. Same for restaurants in both towns. Thanks.
