Buddy and I drove from Atx to Gonzales to eat some most tasty and excellent Q at Baker Boys. I got a lb. of brisket, a lb. of pork ribs and two sausage links, plus a pint of beans, potato salad, and a banana pudding. The brisket was absolutely some of the best I've had, pork ribs smoked perfectly still on the bone but perfectly nibbly, but the sausage really got me. Loose packed with a natural casing, seasoned with kosher salt and mesh 16 pepper, plus some garlic - it was outstanding country style sausage. With a tea it cost $76 bucks after the tip. We were going to Smitty's but changed plans midstream as my pardner made the rec. They have been in bidness for 9 yrs and this one is going on my return list for sure. They let me walk back and check out their pits after lunch which was cool and they are the nicest people! If anyone has been, lemme know what your thoughts were. I thought very highly of the place.
