Who cares about my feelings? I've managed a board before, and I'd never do that. Generally, I don't believe in closing threads, but let's say that I made an exception, I doubt I'd make my post the last one. And if I did, I would NEVER accuse someone of misrepresenting himself (essentially, lying), and then lock the thread. Bad form.
I'm middle aged. My kids are grown. I'm happily married. I couldn't care less what you or anyone else thinks of me, UNLESS maybe it led someone to doing good in this world, or being ready for the next. That's why I take exception to being called a liar.
If I write something, it's because I believe that thing to be true. I'm not in the business of pretending.

Good for you. I was going to post that the UK would be shortly put on the travel ban list, but I was too late. It was already announced. I just got back last night from Barcelona. I was 8 hours ahead of the travel ban from Spain. It was a pretty tense moment in the Barcelona airport....somewhat like hoping you could get on the last chopper out of Saigon. The Barcelona was filled with folks desperate to get out.

Why is the US health system being criticized at all? The whole of Europe has it worse than us. Why are we being vilified? Name ONE country that is doing a better job of protecting its citizens......There isn't one. All of Europe is in lockdown. Italy has military vehicles blocking roads into and out of cities. Not true. We CAN have short term effects on certain things, but LONG term, it's out of our control. You're living with the mindset that humans can overcome any obstacle put in our path. And most times, we can. But every time we clear a hurdle, mother nature ups her game. And eventually, we will be unable to clear her bar, and a mass die off will happen. It has happened to every species that has ever inhabited this planet. The longer we push back or hold back the "great correction" the more drastic the correction will be. It's like the stock market--- the longer the bull market-- the worse the bear market. Everything returns to balance. This disease is just a pothole on the road to balance. Better to get our correction now-- then to continue to to hold back what will one day become a tidal wave that will destroy us all. It's lose little or lose HUGE. I'd rather lose little.
