...it is shaping up as a likely scenario. You have BIG, SEC and ACC locking up 3 of the conference champ top 4 seeds. The Mountain West is likely taking the 4th conference champ bye seed with Boise State. Who will get that 5th conference champion spot to guarantee being an at-large bid...because that looks like the only way the Big 12 has a shot.
With BYU (#14) and CU (#16) taking loses today, their only shot now is ASU (#21) and ISU (#22). Yet, you have Tulane (American Conf) sitting there ahead of them at #20.
Will be interesting to see if the CFP committee puts those two Big 12 teams ahead of Tulane after this week. And, given Big 12 tiebreaker rules, etc, who knows if ASU and/or ISU even get a shot at playing for a conference championship. Basically, Big 12 needs ASU or ISU to win out and jump Tulane.
