They never should have made the playoffs. I don't think anybody really thought they were a top 4 team. The whole most deserving thing is just a participation ribbon.
Love it. ND is a fraud, but they deserved to be in the CFP over OSU and Georgia. OSU shouldn't have gotten blown out by Purdue and Georgia shouldn't have gotten blown out by LSU and shouldn't have lost to Alabama. Both need to quit blaming the CFP committee and win their games and then there would be no argument.
Totally disagree. Why reward a fraud? I don't think they are a fraud myself, just too slow to beat a top notch team from the South. And everybody knows it. Hate that this feels like the JV game.
Clemson/Georgia would have been a great game, with comparable athletes.
The committee got it right. A two-loss Georgia didn't deserve to be in the CFP over an undefeated ND team. Neither did OSU. Your $EC bias is obvious. Hell, if it were up to $EC fans, they would have all four teams in the playoff be $EC teams.
Are there any 5* defensive lineman in the Transfer Portal (wishful thinking). I believe it is time to get impatient for some Clemson style defensive lineman. It is a little odd to think we have an All American/Conference type down lineman every few years instead of every year or with at least a little more frequency. I don't know if Poona is elite, so that would leave Malcom Brown as our last elite DL and perhaps Orakpo before that. Ridgeway, Reed, Whaley (who excelled in the NFL compared to his collegiate career) were pretty good but, not elite.
Maybe they just need to clarify the criteria a little better. They need to stop talking about the eyeball test and just let the computers pick them if they don't care about getting the best 4. Heck, you guys have a chance to make the committee look really smart. We'll know who was right in a few days. Love bowl season either way.
I am so torn on the varsity game in a couple hours. Can both get beat? I can not believe I will have to will myself to pull for ou and their pint sized qb. Makes me sick. But Saban needs to go down, by any means neccessary.
Something to note about the Golden Domers. It has now been 26 years since they won an NY6 level bowl game. Not only that but they have been in 8 of them since that win and have lost all of them by double digit margins. And it has now been 31 years since they won a NC. When we played them 2 years ago some of their t-shirt fans came on here mocking us for going 35 years without winning a natty.

ND needs to join a conference and do it the right way.
Just because ND got smoked against Clemson has nothing to do with whether they "deserved to be there" or not. They went undefeated against a good schedule. Georgia lost two games. The committee got it right.
The Golden Domers will never join a conference. It's central to their tradition, their identity.
However if NBC were to sever their ties with ND fb well then maybe......
2 of the best 3 teams in the country were from the SEC. If someone says the top 4 were all SEC, they are being a homer.

Yeah, but Georgia had two losses. They didn't deserve to be in the playoff. All of this blaming and finger pointing by $EC fans is lame. Win all of your games and you're in, and quit your whining about not getting in the playoff.
