Really happy about the way they played on Saturday. Kids played hard, battled, have to move on, get ready for Tech. Terrific offense, Mahomes is terrific, hands are going to be full.

Have four games left, it's a one-game season. The guys know how important this game is. They haven't played well on the road, so that's the focus.

They've talked so much about playing good defense on the road, which they haven't. Have talked about being a disciplined team and have had too many penalties. Guys have to play together. Kicking game is critical on the road. So many factors involved, just have to make sure the kids are locked in.

Trust has always been there with the team. Now that they've seen guys go make plays ... trust is there, have to just build on it. Has told them, just make it a one-game season, whether they're at home or on the road.

Tech will run a lot of crossing routes, a lot of times they're knocking off defenders and guys are getting open. The QB is the issue, he scrambles around and guys drop their coverage. Can't do that against Mahomes because he'll let it go from anywhere on the field. Have to keep him contained and keep him in the pocket.
On roster shake-up ... any time they do that, guys know they're still going to play. It's all about competition. Vahe knows he's going to play. It's not like he's never going to play, that's going to happen.

On Saturday, they got more pressure, blitzed to see if they could get the ball out of the QBs hands. Going to play with pressure, can't have the QB scrambling around and holding the football. Any time Baylor was in the red zone, they came with all out pressure.

Pressure this week will be critical. Can't let Mahomes get outside the pocket this week. They need to not drop the coverage. If they see him scrambling, don't come up until he crosses the line of scrimmage.

Gilbert runs the offense. Offense hasn't been the problem. He doesn't go to Gilbert and say "let's do this." Gilbert knows what he wants to call, Strong doesn't walk up and say "I need to see this play."
On defense, the coaches all rotate their players in. Strong just makes the defensive calls. The assistants know how many reps guys need, if they're tired, etc.

Have to be consistent, play well week in and week out. They need to have the same passion they have at home when they're on the road. Haven't been consistent this year yet.

Buechele is never going to be shaken for confidence. He trusts his teammates, has a really good run game. Saturday, after he made an unbelievable check, they knew the check, he got them out of it. Lots of back and forth. He has so much confidence, knows the offense, knows where he needs to put the ball to be successful.

With Foreman, you like that he'll come out and take a break when he needs it. Have to keep Foreman fresh. When he's fresh, he's hard to tackle. When he got hurt and fell on the ball, he wanted to stay in the game. When he's fresh, he's as good as anyone and continues to show that.
They came with more pressure in the red zone on Saturday. When the players come off the field and say keep running that defense, you know they're feeling good about it. Were able to get stops and force some FGs. Didn't want to give up TDs, knew holding to FGs would keep them close.

On D Foreman lining up at WR late .. it was a match-up with them, seeing where they were going to place people. Even in that situation, were able to get the plays they were able to get and be as effective as they were,

On the road, it's a different mindset for you. They're comfortable at home. Have to have that same feeling when they go on the road. Just have to go play, not let any factors bother them at all. Have to get out to a good start. Where they have to do a better job is to be more mentally in to it, have a better mindset. Have to be road warriors and get it done on the road.

Time out before the first half ... they were tired, were trying to get some fresh guys on the field. Called the time out, Baylor executed the play, which should have never happened.
TCU did a good job against Tech of keeping Mahomes contained. That's what has to be critical for them. If he gets outside, can't drop their coverage. Sometimes if a guy scrambles, DBs lose their eyes. Can't do that this week, have to keep him contained.

Domingue's kick was terrific. Dickson amazing at punter. Becker was fantastic on kick-offs. Good to see the kicking game playing well. They purposely got the ball on the right hash on that last kick because he had been hitting better from the right side in practice.

18 wheeler, been talking about it, going to put in some more wrinkles. Should have converted on the two-point conversion if he would have bounced it outside. They can add more wrinkles to it, will continue to use that package. He will still play some at RB to give Foreman a breather.

Defense is about gap control more than anything. There weren't a lot of big passes. QB scrambles hurt them, have to keep the QB contained. They can play better on defense.
Only stats that matter are wins. People are putting up huge individual stats on offense. You have to make sure at the end of the day, you come out with the win. Whatever you have to do to get the win, let's get it done.

Told the guys the other night, they have four left. That's how they have to look at it. They know what kind of team they have, how good they can be. He knew they'd play well last week because of the way they practiced. Now they have to take that same focus and have it again this week. If they don't, they'll get embarrassed by Tech's offense.

With Malik Jefferson, he's not a guy who has an ego. You can talk to him. You can sit him down and show him things. He bounced back and wanted to prove what he can really do. He went out the other night and played a really good game. They expect that from him all the time. He's important to the defense, they need him to play well.

The defense played well the last time they were in Lubbock. Going to take guys making plays, understanding how big the atmosphere they're going into.

Boyd has really come on. He made the hit where Locke got the INT. He has covered well, has done a lot of good things for them. His focus is at a whole other level, he's kind of separating himself from the other corners. Locke did a really good job on Saturday in covering the inside WR.

On Foreman lining up outside ... there's a reason he was out there. One play leads to another. When Foreman went out wide, they had to adjust out and take LBs out of the box so they could try to run downhill. Even on the two point play, Swoopes could have walked in for the conversion if he would have bounced it outside.

Foreman should be in the Doak Walker conversation and Heisman talk. If you watch him, the reason he's in the position he's in is because of how hard he works in practice. He's been fun to watch, has been an unbelievable person and how he's been able to handle it. He has four left. He'll continue to get stronger.

That's it for today.
