Now it's just getting weird

It's been a minute since Barry Switzer man. Time to let the "renegade program" thing go.

Also, let's stop pretending like Oklahoma is Mississippi with shoes. We have plenty of money and culture to go around. We have pro sports. OKC is about a step behind Dallas. Deal with it.

Now that's funny, CW. Comparing Oklahoma to Dallas?! 😆

Man thats gotta sting OU fans Williams following Riley to USC.
It doesn't make me happy but from what I've read the OU boosters made Caleb a lucrative NIL deal and he either shopped it or he was going to USC the whole time. For whatever reason, Riley kind of left with a vengeance which is odd to me considering the opportunity he was presented with at OU. Probably due to the fact he got booed by the fans. I don't know much about USC other than they finished 4-7 last year. It'll be interesting to see how good they can be before Williams is leaving for the NFL.

So apparently Dart enters transfer portal so Williams is obviously going to USC. OU boosters made a lucrative offer but Caleb shopped it around I guess. OU should try to grab Dart, his video looks pretty good to me

The transfer portal movement this year is insane. The player movement is mimicking the coaching carousel.
I don’t know what the answer is but look what happened to MBB. Interest went down because of the one and dones. In CFB, one and done is just a different animal = one year at a school then you bolt for greener pastures. Can’t be good for the overall long term health of the industry, er . . . sport.

I think that Riley is going to kill it at USC. He has so much less to deal with there in the PAC 12 vs the SEC. He will own recruiting in CA and the surrounding states. IMO we're about to see a resurrection of USC football. I'm not a USC fan, but just being realistic. OU's loss was USC's gain.

Get your popcorn ready for the a&m players hitting the portal at the end of the 2022 season, lol. Also, there will be new rules in place for NIL before next year's signing class.

No I agree Riley made a move that was right for him in light of the NIL deal/SEC move. I think he could have handled it a lot different. Venables did not poach any Clemson players. Especially the way Riley cried about sportsmanship when Baylor beat OU and then kicked a field goal at the end to top it off.

Damn I hope so or this crap will just ruin the sport. If you can’t keep a starting qb on your team for 2-3 years to learn your system offenses are going to totally suck

I fvcking hate Dallas-- but my bruh.....

A step?

You're a "step" behind Dallas?

Is that like playing hopscotch from Nova Scotia to Greenland to Iceland to Wales kind of step?

There's more teeth in South Oak Cliff than in all of Oklahoma. You're wealthiest citizen is dead, T Boone-- your second wealthiest Oklahoman lives in Nashville and fvcks fat Trisha Yearwood.
That's not true Clob... I know, I know. You have a whole whopping 8 billionaires in your state. 2 of them are husband and wife and own truck stops. One owns hobby lobby. 1 is a widow that sold her husband's oil company. And another owns some newspapers.

Ya-- you dudes are a step away from Dallas.

Haha. Joking around a little with you guys on that post.

A&M will have no more leave than any other college. They have been flooding out of Texas more than A&M. 3000 players in the portal...those aren't all Aggies. Yes, you will always have guys that will leave because they won't be playing. Who is going to be flying out of there? I can see anyone who isn't starting such as Haynes King, a couple of running backs, a couple of DL due to having several great ones and maybe a secondary player or 2. It is the business now. If you don't start then transfer.

Fair enough. That's what you "can see". What'll happen and what will surprise you is who you can't see leaving. Jimbo is a pretty average coach with an out of date offense. He's replacing both coordinators and he stubbornly won't allow anyone besides him to call plays. a&m's limitation is Fisher. They aren't going to win a NC with him there. May as well accept that.

Aggy won't be able to funnel 30 million under the table ever year. NIL will take recruiting into the light of day. The # of businesses lined up at Texas door is limitless with our Alumni base and tech power in Austin. We are going back to the power of pre schollie limits. Texas is about to be on top in sports once again.
I like your optimism.

I'll agree on the out of date offense. I believe he is a great coach...needs to change with times with the offense. I agree he is stubborn in that. If he had a good coordinator I believe they could be amazing. He hasn't had a quarterback there yet. He has them coming in now. ,Let me see what he does with Weigman. I'm not real hyped up on Max Johnson either. King could win, but not go all the way. I truly believe Weigman is that special guy.

You better hope that Weigman is the real deal. Both King and Johnson are marginal at best D1 QB's.

That was the plan by USC all along. Theoretically, if he could keep the top CA players he can build a powerhouse at USC. The only issue is going to be NIL and the state of CA. They're looking to heavily regulate it and dilute it so that any NIL income requires a cut for the state plus a cut for the school. That won't pass constitutional muster. CA and Gov Newsome are not going to allow full unrestricted NIL like the State of Texas. That may put schools like USC and UCLA at a recruiting disadvantage with the Texas schools.

You do realize that the California NIL law has less restrictions than the Texas NIL law

Right now Cali isn't as tight as Texas.

Once that fvck hole Newsome figures out the billions in revenue Cali could make off having a national contender year in and year out, and how much he can skim off the top, he'll turn a blind eye to everything.

Its going to take him at least 2-3 years to start winning like he did at OU out there. That roster is trash up front. CW will be running for his life even more than he was at OU last year. It’s going take a lot of effort just to win the PAC 12 only to get blown out in the playoffs every time they make it. They aren’t ever going to match up with the physicality of SEC teams, especially with Wiley as their S&C coach.

No logical fan ever would've wanted him fired but there’s a reason the fanbase at OU was becoming frustrated with him and are happy/more optimistic with the direction the coaching staff is going, even if that means a taking a short term hit on the field. Riley’s teams regressed from the time he took over to the time he left. His coaching style and the culture he built weren’t ever going to be good enough to get OU over the hump and he was much father away at the end of his tenure than when it started.

Look,

I think Lincoln Riley was cut from the same maxi-pad as Bob Stoops.
I can't stand the guy and I hope his private jet crashes right into Amy Schumer's Hollywood pool while her Orca fat ass is floating in it.

But never in my life has ANY coach had back to back Heisman QB winners, with a 3rd one finishing 2nd-- and probably another QB that makes the Heisman finals if he didn't turn out to be the biggest deuche bag in OU history. Yes, Boz was a deuche-- but Boz could play (roids and all).

Riley is going to get his pick of the litter in QBs. It's almost cliche.

Come on--- be honest. Who was your porn crush? We all had one. For you old farts-- who was your dirty mag/playboy crush?
If she was in porn-- she most likely lived in Los Angeles.
If it was a girl in Playboy-- guess where she hangs out? The Playboy mansion-- in Beverly Hills.

Guess who gets invited to the Playboy mansion for parties? The starting USC quarterback.

USC has the potential to be a monster.

Farrah Fawcett was my childhood all time favorite. As far as the hidden dirty magazines my friends and I had, I never bothered to look at their names or read the articles, it was a mad rush to my favorite pose😁

Candy Loving - it was 1978 or 1979 I think...she had the absolute most perfect set of fun bags I'd ever seen.

Did you see the Georgia and Alabama game last night? Stinson Bennett is no stud in his own right. Georgia is all about the defense and their offense has play makers around Bennett. You remember the Bama days where all of their quarterbacks were marginal at best, but yet they won with the running game and great defense. If you have a great defense and great skill position players then you need someone who can manage all of that and not turn the ball over. I think they can win...meaning go 10-2 with King or Johnson. I think they have a real shot at something bigger with Weigman. Just my thought...I too am a prove it before running a mouth, so I'm right there with you that A&M has to prove it first. I want to see it too.

Again, has a potential to be good. He will struggle to win a playoff game. That’s probably good enough to be considered success there and keep everyone happy. Unless he changes something drastic in his approach, his defenses and linemen on both sides will not be physical enough and he gives up on the run game way too easily. He is a good offensive coach and did a great job developing transfer QBs but his ability to evaluate, recruit and develop his own guys is still up for debate. This will be a massive rebuild job for him which he’s never done and he didn’t show the ability to build on success (on the field) during his tenure at OU. He very well could create the next Alabama out there but so far his track record doesn’t indicate that it’s likely. There are a ton of question marks and he’s going into a dumpster fire of a situation, not taking over an 11-2 team coming off a conference championship and a playoff appearance a year prior.

The Hef took too many blue pills and kicked the bucket in 2017. No more Playboy Mansion parties for Matt Leinart and his successors. Porn star parties happen in the Valley now. And are much more discrete these days.

Gabriel is a perfectly fine QB. He isn’t Caleb Williams though.

True and no one is arguing that he is. That said, Gabriel’s ceiling is lower but right now he’s fundamentally the better QB. He is much better than CW at reading defenses, progressing through reads, completing the deep ball, completing passes in the flow of the offense instead of using his athleticism to extend plays to get people open and he already knows Lebby’s offense. CW obviously is young but showed some regression in all of those things when he started playing better completion after our bye week. He improved a bit with a month to practice before the bowl game so you’d have to assume he’ll grow in those areas over the off season. Depending on what happens at USC he’ll probably end up being the better of the two by the end of the season or 2023 but as we found with Rattler, there are no guarantees.

Also, Georgia just won the ship with Stetson Bennett, pretty confident that DG is much better than him and competent enough to at least help win the conference. Would love to get Dart though.

UGA won with Bennett but they’d probably have another title or two with better QB play. Like for example if Smart had chose justin fields instead of Jake Fromm. I wouldn’t use this UGA team as the model. It’s the exception. You need elite QB play to win a title generally
