As the new season approaches in less than a month, I believe Texas football is in the third and most important phase. Though it may be difficult to recognize, the first two phases have already been laid in the first two seasons of the Sarkisian Era.
Phase 1 NUTS; Before any endeavor is undertaken, one must take inventory of the current size you carry. They are the foundation of Vision. When Vision meets adversity, this foundation will allow Vision to persevere. If the foundation is weak The Vision will fail.
Year One proved Sarkisian’s foundation is strong, why? Because he did not change his vision, he took his 5-7 whipping, kept his core staff in place and remained the course. While most focused-on game leads slipping away, he proved his way could put up points to be leading the game IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Phase 2 VISION; The Mental statement that will happen and how it will happen. Grounded on Nuts, every visionary that has ever found success began with this combination.
Glimpses of color were shown in the first two years, there is no denying that, but isolated colors on a palette do not paint the picture. Even so, the labor to mix the paint before it is applied on the canvas must be undertaken.
Phase 3 EXECUTION; Before the execution phase takes place, every visionary is scrutinized, It is only through the execution of the vision that observers begin to recognize the brush strokes of the painting.
A blank canvas represents doubt, we are about to see the opaque image of Year Three of the Golden Era of Texas Longhorn Football.
What gives me the confidence to write these words? While the majority of observers could not make sense of why Sarkisian kept calling for the deep ball last year, I saw it for what is was, Vision based on Nuts!
