So here we are now re-visiting the silver boot series for the 2nd time this season and the second time in basically a week plus. After the Astros swept the Rangers in 4 games in Houston, the Astros remained in 2nd place in the AL West and the Rangers were hanging onto 4th. The Astros went out west and took 2 of 3 from the Oakland A’s while the Rangers after taking the first game against the Evil Empire proceed to lose the 2nd game and then decided hits and runs were overrated. The Rangers got no-hit for the 2nd time this season and then shutout the next day. The Rangers haven’t scored a run in 22 innings while they get ready to play the highest scoring team in MLB. Current standings have the Astros in 1st place in the AL West and the Rangers comfortably bringing up the rear 8 games out. The crazy thing is that we are only 44/46 (Astros/Rangers) games into the season or approximately 27% of the season however if this were last year we’d be in the home stretch.

I added the poll question about no-hitters as the MLB record is 7 no hitters in a season and we already have 6. Those 6 are against 3 teams who have each been no hit twice already this season. No team in MLB history has ever been no hit three times in a season. I got to believe the odds are that both the total in MLB and single team records are going to be broken this year.

Silver Boot Series

I don’t know that anyone really cares about the silver boot series but it is worth mentioning the Astros lead the season series 4-0 with 15 games to go.

Pitching Matchups

Some Interesting notes:

The Astros offense is getting a lot of notice around the league

The Astros continue to get the local love

and just for shits and giggles

Lastly, just like to welcome our fellow Longhorns who have the unfortunate trait of being Ranger fans to join us in this thread for some good natured baseball fun
@Bugtussle U @Dog from Duck Hunt @JitterFields @horns4vr @jrw102676 and I'm sure I'm missing
some others

and apparently I missed the anniversary of this play on May 18th but its never a bad time to post

I'll give the LA organist a little credit on this for being funny, Orel Hershiser on the other hand must have a giant dildo stuck up his ass

Does anyone know the best way to buy tickets to games at the Ballpark?

At the Box Office?
That is rarely the best or easiest way. For Astros home games, for example, Stubhub is the best way. If you have patience and don't have season tickets the veteran move is to wait till about 30 minutes before first pitch. Season ticket holders sell their tickets on stubhub because there is an auto link from your season ticket account to stubhub. You can list your tickets with two clicks or taps. They then download straight to the buyer's phone. When a season ticket holder lists his/her tickets, they make other plans and are hellbent on selling. Prices fall for non premium games as the start approaches.

That's the kind of intelligence I'm looking for as it relates to the Ballpark.

This is an OP worth 5 stars!!!!! Well done @Texas1999!!

Does this really count as Tyler Ivey’s MLB debut since it’s against Arlington?
Houston is -121 favorite as the Rangers are throwing their best pitcher tonight so I'd say yes. He's going to have to have a good outing to get the win. One thing to watch is that he has a long windup and delivery and the one thing the Rangers do well is run. If he allows base runners there could be a lot of stolen bases

Re the poll... Seattle’s team BA is .198. Their strikeouts are 50% higher than their hit total. They’re a threat to get no-hit every night.
I agree and voted as such, thus the next question would be which Astros pitcher is most likely to get a no hitter this year?

The Dodger announcers are the worst. Always whining about missed strike calls against them and glossing over calls that go their way. Just the worst group of homers.

I am stuck watching that broadcast when the Astros play them.
Everything about the Dodgers is annoying. They are the worst when it comes to being whiny.

The Astros did not go 2 of 4 against the A's!

BTW, you're killing me with that tiny orange font. Any reason you're using a smaller font size?
sorry 2 of 3

As for the font, I was actually trying to make it bigger and made it 15 so I'm not sure why you are seeing it smaller. Just edited and made it even bigger for you.

15 and 22

So you weren't really asking a question, you were waiting to ambush the first person that gave you the absolute only answer to the question you asked.

If you had asked the question properly (What is the best way to get last minute tickets to baseball games?) you would have gotten an answer more responsive to what you actually wanted to know.

Except you didn't even want to ask the question, did you? You just wanted to make some weirdo obscure point!

The nefarious nature of LMJ’s hair has him in a cranky mood.

This is what I do. Unless it's a sellout, I don't care where my ticket is as long as it will get me through the gate. I just walk up to the box office and ask for whatever is cheapest then sit wherever I want, rarely staying in the same seat throughout the game anyways.

On the OB phone app your font looks normal. On Brave, on both my computers, its smaller. I just checked on Google Chrome and it's normal sized there. Maybe it's just a Brave browser thing.

I can' use Google Chrome for OB though because it doesn't allow Twitter posts to show on either of my computers either.

I guess it's my problem. ;)

that is odd as I use chrome on both my computer and phone and both show it as much larger
