Official Texas vs Ksu thread

They keep showing that pass Dez Bryant dropped against the Packers. The one the Cowgirls Dan's always cry about.

Well it wasn’t pretty but it’s a road win, and you move on. Still alive for the conference title and with the mess going on at A&M and OU maybe some recruiting battles start tilting our way.

Our 2nd halfs are summed up in a few-ish sentences.

We have no conditioning.
We don't make good adjustments.
We contract our playbook.
We don't know how to take life and end dreams.

We're just soft.
I dont understand this tho. We’ve played enough games to be conditioned by now .

Culture. Mindset. Psychology. Belief.

We are bad at those things. And we hung on tonight, O didn’t go close it out. Well on our DL. They brought it that last drive.
Yeah. This is still a pretty young team. Especially on offense. You’ve got 2 freshman on the OL, basically a freshman QB, a TE playing his first games. They’ve got some growing up to do but I think they will

I know what it is. Teams get gashed with our run game in the 1st half and start stacking the box in the 2nd half. Once Quinn can start beating teams with his arm consistently this offense will put up 50 a agame. Props to Sark for sticking to the run though. Man it feels good to finally beat a good team on the road!!

I think it is an offense/Sark problem. Not conditioning and not defense.
Who made the drive killing mistakes? Billingsley and the red crip... dudes who haven't been in the tight situations. You could see the want-to in our guys late-- Bijan running like an animal, and our defense fighting like mad to the point of getting in each other's way on a fumble. My one bit of advice would be when things are getting tight, especially on the road, don't put dudes in you don't trust. Really trust. And trust is earned, not given, at this point in the season.

I think many of the fish have those things. Many of the older guys and coaches do not.

You can’t have a solid OL with 3-1/2 pieces. That’s what we have. So in 2nd half when they have to whip ass and sustain blocks, 3 or 4 out of 5 doesn’t work.

Yall can talk about the win if you want, but scoring 3 points in the second half of 2 consecutive games is absolutely fvcking embarrassing. Something about this coaching staff isn't right. I'm not smart enough to know what's wrong, but that shyt HAS to stop...

Our offensive line is going to be really good next year. A year in the strength and conditioning program and they are going to be mean mfers! Kelvin Banks especially. That dude is a top 5 pick in the 2024 draft.

Just enjoy the win man. 9 underclassmen starting on offense. They’ll get it figured out.

What do you mean “talk about the win if you want”? We won the game. You can’t just ignore that like it didn’t happen because it didn’t happen the way you wanted it to lol

Well we held on which I’m glad but also pissed we can’t score in the second half of games .

Kelvin Banks has now played 3 edge guys that are 1st round players and hasn’t given up a sack to any of them. That’s unbelievable for a true freshman.
A 5 star coming in and looking like a 5 star. That’s what gives me hope for this coaching staff. That’s not something we’ve seen at Texas the last few years. How many high 4 and 5 star guys have we had the last few years and you keep waiting for it to click, and it never does. With Sanders, Banks you see it on the field right away.

Sark runs a vanilla offense in the second half with a lead. I don’t know why but that’s what it is, I guess he thinks we will win as long as we don’t beat ourselfs. There is very little motion or attacking the perimeter like there is in the first half. Couple that with a hit or miss defense and this is what we get.

Well kids-- we were 29 yards short of where I said we'd need to be (I actually said we'd need to run for around/about 300 yds to win) but before I start breaking my arm to pat myself on the back-- let's figure out why I said what I said.

Let's look at why. We controlled the first half BECAUSE we could effectively RUN the football. What did we have..... 209 by half.

Which means we only had 60 or so in the 2nd half?

Think about that, gents. Their D was tired. We'd gashed them for over 200 yards rushing in the first half. Yet we managed only 60-ish in the 2nd?

Why?

Running the football is supposed to energize your OLine and wear down the D.

So why couldn't we run the ball against a tired D that we dominated at the LOS in the 1st half?

No.

We're a young team finding their way. We're learning to win.

We got it done late against ISU didn't we? And we did it again tonight.

Although we've won 6 in a row with the exception of 1 game every game against KSU has gone down to the wire

And hey they are a good team. Matter of fact I'm pulling for them to run the table the rest of the way.

Now let's get ready for the horn thugs.

They didn't go for the qb today they merely took out TT's best receiver.

That's the 5th time in the last 6 game that's happened. 2 of the games the player was ejected.

If they do it against us something has to be done about it.

Because they knew what play was coming. We bunched everyone up and ran into a loaded box. The defense was run blitzing.

And for the love of God, can we at least TRY running Bijan to the wide side of the field?
We like that fvcking short side, don't we? You gotta have WRs that can block if you want to run to the wide side.
