With the Beard situation finalized, we can look ahead to who might be next…
1. Rodney Terry: he’s going to have a good season. On paper, I suspect it will look like he earned the job. And maybe he just will earn the job.
And the rest, in no particular order:
2. Brad Underwood
3. Eric Musselman
4. Nate Oats
5. Kelvin Sampson - this ****in dude is pushing 70
6. Matt Painter - probably hard to pry him away from his alma mater. Doing a great job though.
7. Danny Hurley - maybe a tough pull to get him out of the northeast. UConn is a great job.
8. Scott Drew - he’s a ****ing tool
9. Bruce Pearl - kind of past his prime, but still does a good job, and has some good years left in him.
10. Billy Donovan. Still in his 50s, but has passed on several opportunities to return to college, in favor of any NBA job he can get his hands on.
11. Royal Ivey - not this shit again. And I say this as the biggest Royal Ivey fan on planet earth. But there’s just nothing about him that suggests he’d be ready for a job like this, at this point. I do think he’s got a nice career ahead of him, but this isn’t where you start being a college coach.
