So, if nobody watches it ...does it still count ? 2.0 ...=)roll=)roll

The Oklahoma-Texas Red River Rivalry drew a 2.0 overnight rating on FS1 (a 2.0 overnight = 2% of the TV households in the largest 56 Nielsen markets) down 46% from the 3.7 overnight rating the game drew last year on ABC, and the lowest national telecast dating back to at least 2006.

Here are 8 out 10 previous years’ overnight ratings when the game aired on ABC (2007 & 2010 excluded because game was regional, not national those years):

CBS to FS1 hurt viewership numbers, but they still did well in the DFW area market. Better than the high profile game played South of Dallas on Saturday.

A lot of it was due to FS1. Only people who planned ahead watched. When you are flipping around looking for games, you check the ESPN's, ABC, CBS, and maybe regular Fox. You got to get the none die-hard fans to get a big rating.

I watched the 1st quarter of the RRS and it looked like something was wrong with the feed. Like the camera quaity wasn't that great. I've seen FS1 games like this before and I've seen FS1 games with better quality.

Anyone else notice that? Or is my TV just going to shit?

I thought it was my TV as well. However, I didn't have a problem with the overall programming of the game (except the excessive "You don't own me" Toyota commercials). My only complaint is that there wasn't enough shots of our young Bevo.

It was not even shown on WFAA (Abc) in Dallas who has a station less than 10 miles from the Cotton Bowl, instead they broadcast ND losing to NC State. That could have cut out a lot of people that do not have cable but would have watched the game.

Is FS1 basic cable? I don't think it comes with the basic package.

CFP had low ratings because it was on cable... UT vs UND had monster ratings on ABC...

Ratings for ND vs Texas would be much lower if played today even on a real network. Everyone was Jonesing for football week 1, and the shine is off both teams for sure. But it would do better than 2%.

Ahhhh, just to go back to week 1 when we thought our defense was doing their best to slow down a really good ND. "TEXAS IS BAAAAAACK!" Those were the good ol' days. I remember like it was only a few weeks ago..........
