What will our starting OL look like in 2022?
I think very different than 2021. And upon further review of @Alex Dunlap 's thread on our OL recruits so far and with an assist from @benbrookhorn 's excellent depth chart (linked below), here is my WAY too freaking early view of what rolls out in 2022
LT
Karic/Jones/Portal player to be named later
LG
Junior/ Hayden/Robinson
C
Majors/Portal player to be named later/Hutson
RG
Devon Campbell/Hayden/Neto
RT
Banks/Karic/Williams
3 players who seem lost but we'll see in the spring are Logan Parr (So), Jaylan Garth (So) and Max Merrill (So). If even one or 2 become part of the 2 deep, at this point a win. Without portals, that is 14 players on ship as of today. 15-17 is a good number so plenty of room for 2-3 portal guys.
Yes, projecting 2 true freshmen as starters which might be WAY optimistic (though I'll bank on one, no pun intended) and a clear violation of my "all OLs need to shirt" belief. But we live in different times as we try to fix Mensa's HORRID OL recruiting and development.
These new young guns will certainly ramp up the competition and that is a very good thing.
