It's old news, and we have already replaced them, but F Notre Dame. Right when Texas is getting really good, they cancel games in 2019 and 2020. The term CHICKEN SHIT applies here.

I don't care about any excuses they hate our former AD, blah blah blah. They don't want to get embarrassed yet again by a southern power.

Well to hell with these catholic boy loving pricks, I hope Texas never schedules them again. I hope we absolutely kill your weak ass team.

Understand this, the 20th century is over, you will never be great again, today's high school athlete were not alive the last time you won anything. You will never be great again.

So have fun in the ACC playing a bunch of sissy punks and dodging Clemson and FSU.

Yeah, ND is afraid of "southern power" that is why they scheduled home & home with SEC teams, starting next year with Georgia. Then moving on to LSU, so on.

"Right when Texas is getting really good" Did I miss something? You were 5-7 last year. And how do you know what UT or ND will be in 3-4 years?

"Embarressed yet again by a southern power"
ND is 9-2 versus Texas, 29-5-1 against the Big12 (22 of those games against Texas & Oklahoma) & 27-18 against the SEC (5-2 against Bama).

"Never be great again" ND played in the title game four years ago, has been ranked in top 10 every year since & was in the CFP top 4 last year multiple weeks. Has put together top 10 recruiting classes almost every year.

ND plays FSU & Clemson in rotation, so not sure how they can "dodge" them?

As for name-calling, classic behavior from someone on a forum who wants to be noticed.
It's old & tired. Put down the alcohol. Nobody cares.

P.S.
My comments are directed at the thread starter. Everyone else on here has been cool.

Technically ND DID back out of this series while Texas was killing it.... so yeah, they bounced when Texas was doing good... no spin needed, it is what it is........ just like arkiesaw did........ history can be fun.... we all know what the h2h is between Texas and ND too btw - but it doesnt change the fact that ND bounced from the series while Texas was actually doing good.

Aside from that, it should be fun smashing you guys in week 1. ;)

I'm a little confused about what ND bounced when Texas was doing good means? You mean in recruiting? ND cancelled because they face 5 ACC teams now. They also have scheduled SEC games for their open dates. They already did one home & home with Texas, why do another so soon? They also did a home & home with Oklahoma, & now looking at another top tier Texas program for a home & home.

Texas should be glad, this gives them a chance to schedule a different program up north, maybe MSU, or OSU, since they already scheduled UM.

Who knows, if Texas is as good as people here think & ND is too, they can play in the CFP.

P.S. The two AD's hate each other so if it wasn't so close they probably wouldn't be playing the current home & home either. Lol

Wow!...I thought Perrin was so plain vanilla that no one could hate him....good to know.

OUCH

Wasn't Perrin...it was ol Steve-o...which as Judge Chamberlain Haller from My Cousin Vinnie would say, " that would explain the hostility "

Yeah Zig....that's what I was getting at. I was just giving Farly a chance to catch it himself. I don't know why, but I kinda like ole Farly.

LMFAO when I see the first few posters were a bunch of okie trash. Doesn't surprise me one bit. Every Okie post has a lot of fear behind it. They got their asses kicked last year and I don't care if we only won by 7, we all know, the game wasn't anywhere near that close.

And I freely admit we weren't competitive against Notre Dame, but as the season wore on we started to grow up and now we are better than they think we are, and with home field advantage. Texas is going to kick their asses.

The 2nd half of the year you lost to average wvu, average tech at home and got routed by isu. This makes 2 comments of yours that make little to no sense lol. Don't resort to childish name calling because we are a little bewildered by what you posted. Maybe you will be better this year but like all of us, we have no idea here in July

They canceled it a year that Texas went 6-7 and 4 years after the Longhorn's last 10 win season.

I guess some at Texas have lowered the bar of what 'killing it' and 'good' are considered.

ND had just announced the Georgia series. And ND recently has had greater success recruiting the southeast than they have the Texas area. And recruiting is the goal of away games.

But it does speak volumes that the OP is scared of 8-4 and 9-3 teams.

Aw, thanks.
I just try to keep it football & friendly. There are a few times I reply with a smartazz comment, but then I quickly delete it. Haha.

Besides, how can I argue with "we're going to kick your asses!" Lol

Last year is last year. This team grew as it played. Our oline got better with each game. Our defense go better with each game. Our running game got better with each game. We now have a QB, and now there will be hell to pay.

LOL, even a blind man can see how good Texas is going to be in 2019 and 2020

Doesn't matter, on paper you look better, Texas is still going to kick your asses.

How does ND canceling the series in a year that Texas 6-7 after four years with their max win being 9 games have anything to do with 19 and 2020? Your statement was that Texas was 'really getting good' in 2014.

But it does make me feel better when you are talking about how good Texas was getting in years they had back to back 7 loss seasons.

Keep reaching OP. I give you props for being a homer and trust me there are plenty of them on the ND board also. But this is right up there with 'ND can only win if it ain't hot enough out on game day'

Okay, if we are going to be fair, we have to mention one important thing...

Texas backed out of a home & home with Minnesota for '15/'16.

So Minnesota was coming off a 8-4 season (7 point loss to champion OSU) in 2014, Texas was 6-7, & they would have been playing in Minnesota last year.

According to Minnesota AD & Texas beat staff writers, Texas wanted no part of going to Minnesota last year. Effing Minnesota.

So we can drop the topic now? I'm over it.

Meh---- so what if the canceled.

We can still go with Patterson's idea an schedule a neutral-nuetral with Southern Cal at Estadio Azteca- in Mexico city. 165,000 screaming Mexicans could be fun to watch.

Assuming both teams don't get kidnapped and held for ransom.

Or covered with condoms filled with feces & urine.
Or flares.

Texas is one of ND's favorite teams to play. Anytime you go 9-2 against a team with Texas good name, it makes for a good day. 10-2 sounds like music to my ears.

Well we appreciate your having a good time here then......Ara64.......yep....that's the year he tied one for the Gipper, or was that 67?

Yet we smashed you guys..... funny how we can make things look when we just pick and chose what parameters to look at isnt it?

And fwiw -we lost to tech by what 3 points? Same as osu and cal basically.. all three were winnable games if not fir a few specific plays/calls. To say we were trailng out at the end of the year is stupid. Yeah we did poorly overall, but we beat ou and baylor and should have beaten a few others.... stuff happens, but anyone who isnt biased could see there was improvement from the team and good things to come.. which is why Texas is being ranked going in to this year.

I wasn't in favor of ND cancelling the last two games in the series. I have a deep respect for Texas Football. I'll never forget the '70 and '71 Cotton Bowl battles. ND vs Texas, Coach Royal vs Coach Parseghian, and two elite programs battling it out on New Years Day. Priceless.

The '79 Cotton Bowl was shabby either.

1. Texas beat Ou by 7 ( not smashed )

2. Your fellow poster stated as the season wore on y'all improved. I decided to go with the 2nd half of the year for an example

3. Never stated y'all were trailing out at the end of the year

You are talking MSU in '66? The first "Game of the Century."

ND lost their QB & was playing a backup against one of the greatest college defenses ever (4 of the first 8 picks in '67 draft) on the road in East Landing. #2 MSU was 9-0, #1 ND was 8-0.
Game finished 10-10 when ND ran out the clock instead of trying to score.
ND beat USC the following week 51-0 with their regular QB. Neither team played in a bowl.
ND finished first in both the AP & UPI winning the national title, so it turned out to be smart.
