I can't believe that Oklahoma State is only a 3.5-point favorite. We'll see if Tom Herman can filter out the noise and do what he, admittedly, has done with some frequency during his head coaching career: win the games that he's not expected to. I just don't think it happens here.

I think the Herman era sees the clock strike midnight in Stillwater.

It's 2020 and the vocal majority of the Texas fan base is itching for change, which means Texas will probably win by 20 points this weekend. Because what could possibly confuse the fan base even more?

In all seriousness, these situations - road underdog in a winnable matchup - are normally when Tom Herman does really well. But the Texas offense is trending the wrong direction against one of Mike Gundy's best defenses, and a defense that gets after the quarterback without needing to blitz better than anyone in the country.

The Longhorn defense will do its part and will have opportunities for turnovers against Spencer Sanders. But it won't quite be enough as the Longhorns compete well, play hard, but come up short.

Oklahoma State 31 - Texas 27

Anwar Richardson (4-1)

Urban Meyer rumors. Two decommits in one week. Questions about the receiver and running back rotation. Issues on the offensive line. Questions about this team's ability to sack the quarterback. Texas is on the road against the 6th ranked team in the nation.

The outcome seems obvious.

It's 2020.

Nothing has gone the way we expected.

These circle the wagon games where Tom Herman’s teams are an underdog seem to be the ones in which Herman has the most success. With that in mind, my gut is telling me to pick Texas in a slight upset.

Then I think about the match-ups and think about the product I’ve seen Texas put on the field through the first five games and I just can’t bring myself to do it. I think it’s close, but Oklahoma State gets the home win.

Oklahoma State 34 – Texas 28

Quarter (2-3)
