Caught up with Texas commitment Bo Barnes just now. He's back at home after taking a quick unofficial visit up to Oregon to watch the Ducks play.
This one was surprising because Barnes has been one of the most solid Texas commitments in this cycle. He said Ra'Shaad Samples hit him and his dad up recently and invited them up there, and he just wanted to go up there to watch some football and see the area.
Barnes did say he's still 100% solid with Texas and the Longhorns have nothing to worry about. I'm inclined to believe him because he's always been pretty forthcoming, but the door is officially open a bit and you know Oregon's going to pick up their intensity now. We'll keep an eye on this one just in case. Barnes did watch the Texas game on television, he said he has not yet talked to the Texas coaches about the visit, and he said he's planning to be in Austin for the Mississippi State game later this month.
