I am sure I will get the usual responses but want to get opinion from the board.
Have a platonic vitenemese friend from college that recently moved to New York. We were somewhat close but lost touch when I graduated (6 years ago). On birthdays or big longhorn events she would text me saying she was thinking about me and She kept on inviting me to see the city and so I thought it would be perfect to catch up with her while I visited the city during Christmas time. She had a boyfriend when I bought the tickets so thought it wouldn’t be weird.
Around thanksgiving she breaks up with the boyfriend and starts texting me more frequently. I was enjoying catching up and thought it was just two old friends excited about a trip. Having just gotten out of a toxic 4 year relationship (bought a ring like a bitch and was she played me like a fiddle. Y’all have me advice on that one too) I have no interest in starting over and doing anything romantic for awhile.
Anyway, stay with her for 4 days and explore the city. I have the couch in this small Amartment. She takes off work and we really spend most of the time together. We go out last night and end up making out. We don’t really talk about what it meant and I have a flight in the morning. My Uber is literally two minutes away and she starts crying and professing her feelings for me and that I shouldn’t leave and should stay and talk. I tell her I can’t miss my flight I have to be at my parents for Christmas dinner tonight and get in the Uber and leave.
So, OB brothers.... am I an asshole?
