OT: Anyone have experience with Section 8 housing, as an investor or renter?

We’re trying to figure out how to help a mentally disabled older family member by getting her approved for Section 8 and possibly converting one of our rental properties into Section 8 housing.

Any insights on approval process would be greatly appreciated.
