Anyone out there been to this area on western coast of Ireland before? Worth going to, for just a weekend trip from Liverpool?
Why I ask, and why just a weekend...
My son is going on a study abroad program that will based in Liverpool-ish area of England. And it has 3 free weekends included.
The itinerary already includes a trip during one of the weeks to Hadrian's Wall and Edinburgh.
He wants to try and visit an area of Scotland on one of those weekends.
But it seems a trip up to the Highlands to see all that legendary scenery isn't all that feasible to do in just a weekend. Unless willing to travel by train all day, and then turn around and travel by train to get back
This Argyll area just north of Glasgow seems likes it's pretty doable, and he could out and about too on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning if he goes.
Any feedback from your own trip there is HIGHLY appreciated!
