Just saw a couple of feral hogs walking along my fence line. First time I've seen hogs on this property, and we've had it since 1980. Haven't really seen any hog signs, but then this morning a big momma and a juvenile were strolling through the yard. My wife is kind of a city girl, so she is freaked out.
We are on 40+ acres in the Hill Country north of SA. Used to be wedged between some large ranches, now we're between neighborhoods on two sides and 1-5 acre homes on the other, so shooting would be kind of dicey. I'm think we probably need to start trapping them. We do have a small pond so I'm guessing that'd be a natural place to try to trap. Anyone have any experience with getting rid of hogs in a semi-suburban environment? And if we do kill any, what's a good way to get rid of the carcass?
Thanks in advance!
